The red card of Lehman was blatantly wrong IMO.

There is such a thing in the game called common sense, and that should prevail overall.  If we played to the letter of the law every week most games would finnish 5 a piece.

Barcelona should have been awarded a goal and Lehman booked I think that would have been a sensible solution.

The referee was a disgrace and cheated the spectators out of what should have been one of the great Euro finals.

I feel sorry for Arsenal, granted Iw anted Barca to win before the game - leant towards Arsenal during and transferred by support back to Barca when King of Kings graced the park, but the game was spoiled by a referee who was out of his debt.  Remember this was the same numpty who sent of Del Horno at the Bridge as well.

I should be happy with the refs decisions I amde £220 profit out the game but I know what it fels like when your team is cheated and when a referee makes many bad decisions, Celtic fans remember seville?
it WAS one of the great euro finals,i thought it was fantastic excitement

It could have been so much more thouigh.

I remember how I felt when Big Bobo seen red in Seville for a legitimate tackle it ruined our chance IMO.

Referees have too much influence in the game this game was way over this guys head - I rell you Hugh Dalls would have done a better job and that says something!

HUGH DALLAS

you've took that too far

Get a grip man, we won't even be this bad if/when you fellas get knocked oot the World Cup.

How prolonged a rubdown do you need to dish out? I think your point has been made and you've started to go over to the bad place.

So it is the day after the night before.

I have awoken with a bad taste in my mouth today.

Arsenal lost - gutted.

However again they do it badly - yes they were 1-0 up with 15 minutes to go in the European Cup Final, yes the ref gave some bad decisions (booked Henry when he won the ball clean, didn't give various fouls etc) but he did give the free kick for the goal, he didn't give a goal for the Lehmann incident.  He could of played on (I believe he should) given the goal and not sent Lehmann off - to the letter of the law.  But he didn't, yes it changed the game and Arsenal had looked like a class act for the first 20 minutes - but if any team can hang on for 70 minutes with 10 men it is Arsenal - I guess against Barca that is a dream.

When it comes down to it Henry missed two gilt edged chances - when the final whistle went did the Captain of my team console his players ?  No he played matey matey with the Barca team - I hope somebody had words for Cesc, Reyes, Flamini, Toure - they are still the future of my club.  The first goal was not offside, we were playing Barca you know they are going to roll around, scrape ankles and look for a competitive edge any way they can - if that is upsetting then the team and management is very sheltered.  I think the reactions from Henry and Wenger at the final whistle were disappointing, I thought Henry a bigger man then that - I am sure some/most of it was down to emotion but I am surprised and disappointed.

Well done Barca - your manager turned the game with two brilliant subs, your strikers finished well.  But Arsenal will never be underestimated in Europe again - with or without Henry.

So today head up - look the Spurs fans in the eye (My misses has been a spurs fan for 20 years - even she wanted Arsenal to win, wasn't to happy that Sol scored but she was bigger then I could ever be in that situation), and be safe in the knowledge that we are years ahead of our North London rival, we have the Dutch master to say goodbye to, The new Stadium to say hello to.  There is sunshine behind todays storms and clouds.  Just remember it hurts because we believed - those that mock that pain must have believed a little bit too.  I will never scrape to the levels seen here, I will always take pleasure in a Spurs defeat (I'm a Gooner thats what we do), but I am safe in the knowledge that I will get more pleasure then them next year.

Well played Arsenal thanks for an adventure I never believed I would have this year.
May we go one better next year.
