i think the answer is, like most of these things is, "It depends".

If your team is Arsenal and are playing east stirling, then you would obviously take the 1-0 down and the 11 men option.

But if you are playing arguably the best attacking team in Europe, then the choice would probably have not been so obvious.

70 mins with 10 is a long time though.  Perhaps 1-0 would have been better.
