I've heard that Ferguson wants Owen and is willing to offer RVN and a sum for his services.

cannnot believe that Ferguson believes that Owen is better than RVN to offer a cash sum as well, other way around maybe, also do you seriously think RVN would go to Newcastle when he could have a pick of clubs imo

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

I do.

Do you honestly think Owen wants to play for Newcastle?

Newcastle have been looking to replace Shearer for years - they wont let Owen go for a 30 year old Nistlerooy who doesn't want to go to Newcastle either.

Believe me, Owen wants to leave Newcastle. If he wants to go, there is nothing to stop him leaving.

I don't think he wants to go... which is completely different from wishing he was at a club that is playing CL and in with a chance of winning things.

There is no way that he can be allowed to leave for less than £16m and I just don't think anyone can or will pay that... unless he has an unbelievable world cup. I also think that the influence of Shearer may play a part in helping keep him with us....

If you were in Owen's shoes, would you want to play for Newcastle?

No champs league football. (very unlikely in future)

No UEFA Cup football.

Glen Roeder is manager ()

Alan Shearer has retired

Mido is your No1 transfer target (Spurs reject)

Reverse order....

I have never seen a manager love a player as much as Jol with Mido and I certainly don't think he is not with TOttenham because they didnt fancy him... (plus that is the first time in the close season I have heard that link... I think Kuyt is more likely)

A.Shearer will undoubtably be the manager well within Owen's playing career.

Roder had the best english managers record last year and Owen is alway harping on about english managers (weak point but shhhh)

UEFA cup football is a possibility for next season

CL is unlikely... but not very unlikely - again as the form of the second half of the season has shown we would have been comfortable up there with a decent first half.

I am completely bias so yes of course I would... I would turn down playing for EVERY other club in the world to play for them. Being idolised is a far greater acolade than any trophy.

He did however so no loyalty to the club by shirking the last game at least, which was of utmost importance. A certain other player would undoubtably have been playing at the same level of injury... but i suppose that is the extra 20% that we will never be able to replace.

I would only consider Newcastle if they came in to loan me for a season" - Micheal Owen, July 2005.

Also when did Shearer ever play with a broken foot? I spose he used to slay dragons too?
