(1) How often do you visit the site?

3 or 4 times a day

(2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance?

only visit the forums

(3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage?

No

(4) Which sections do you frequent the most?

Poker hand analysis, general discussion

(5) Which sections do your frequent the least?

profiles

(6) Which are your favourite sections?

Poker hand analysis, general discussion

(7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion?

Live poker, live updates

(Cool Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why?

Visited the home page once or twice, seems pointless visiting a page each day for the sake of it, i have the forum set as a favourite link instead.

(9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar?

No

(10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility?

Far too busy for me, too much going on, nice simple cleanly laid out layouts for me only. Its too much for your eyes to take in at once, so your mind shuts off and says stuff looking at that. Which is why i have never bothered going back to the home page. I guess if i'm honest it looks like every other boring homepage out there. Blondepoker is something different to anything available out there, i think its website should fall under this bracket too. My opinions on websites are somewhat different to the masses, so don't take anything personally, it's just my opinion.

(11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is?

No idea, i'm new(ish) here.

(12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?)

Possibly if homepage offered something different or something i felt i must read up on or keep in touch with.

(13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have?

Two things:

1 - Royal Flush stories on spunking uber stacks with less than average hands.

2 - Bit more freedom of speech, moderation of forums is very important without doubt, moderate too much and you end up with a whole bunch of people who don't really say what they want to and conversations that don't quite reach the extent that they could.

(14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all?

Only really see it in my head as a great forum, so i guess not.

(15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site?

I am a member of quite a few forums and the layout and the user friendliness of this one is probably the worst to be honest. (in my opinion) the forum indexes are more complicated than they need to be, why do we have child boards? these only confused me in my first few days here, don't see the point, just list them and we can choose accordingly. I also find it the very hardest forum to know whether i am up to date with a thread, whether ive read it etc. This may be me being thick, however there are far easier forums to navigate. When i visit a forum, immediately i want to know, which threads have new posts in since i last visited, whether i have read the thread is immaterial, i will open each one up and read the newest posts etc.

Just read back through my answers and they seem a little negative, they are just me being honest is all i can say. Its a shame but we do not spend enough time complimenting on things in life, i guess my view is that by visiting your site i am paying the highest compliment i could. By providing feedback on the things that need improvement i am only assisting in making your site better for the present and more important future visitors.

thanks for all these responses

much appreciated, but keep em cmoning so we can best gauge what you want from the site

we already know that you guys, perhaps with the exception of the design, love the forum, so if you could focus your attention and answers on the main site (as opposed to the forum), then that would be top banana.

I think what Snoopy is trying to say is that he already knows we all love the forum.
He is wanting feedback on the main site, as if it were a seperate entity to the forum entirely.

For example....

1) How often do you visit the site?

Three times a week

(2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance?

Browse

(3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage?

No

(4) Which sections do you frequent the most?

News Articles, TankBank (to see how my puppies are looking)

(5) Which sections do your frequent the least?

Where to play

(6) Which are your favourite sections?

Blonde blogs, News articles

(7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion?

I see no need for the latest forum topics section, I think if there's one thing that doesn't need much more plugging, it's the forum. Everyone already knows and loves it.
So it only serves to clutter up the homepage and I think it should be the first thing to go in any clean up.

(8 ) Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why?

Yes, I think quality breeds quality.
With so many good authors such as Snoopy, Jen, Tightend, Tikay, RED-DOG and others regularly contributing, I think they all spur each other on to deliver the goods.

(9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar?

If anything, it needs cleaned up. More on the bar, less on the homepage.

(10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility?
Don't like the colour scheme personally. It might grow on me though.

(11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is?

Yes, as it is updated more often with better content, it makes it worth visiting a few times a week.
Before the forum was just a one stop shop for me. On the very rare occasions that I did look at the main site, it was just too darn yellow.

(12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?)

Och aye

(13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have?

The subscript of the synopsis on the news articles on the left hand side to say who wrote it, rather than who submitted it.

(14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all?

Bit miffed  Cheesy

(15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site?

More book reviews! (I want a gig  Cheesy )

Your obvious annoyance to people not answering as you wish here, is probably due to people only reading your initial thread and then posting their answers at that time so as not to forget to do them. With posts so long to read, many will not bother and just solely post their thoughts after reading your first post. This is what i did here anyway and after having read through my answers, they hardly seem forum based anyway except for the final question.

Sometimes you put some effort in to help someone and you still get moaned at!

Thanks for the advice. You are quite right. I have subsequently made the alteration to the initial post.

I'm not annoyed. As I said earlier, I really do appreciate all the feedback given thus far.

I'm not too keen on your last comment. I haven't moaned at anyone. Plus, if you knew how much effort I put into blonde, which is a free site to all its users don't forget, I wouldn't consider answering 15 short questions a particularly time-consuming affair.

Once again, many thanks for all the replies. Leehack's replies were especially useful. I swear I'm trying my best to give you guys what you want, but, sometimes, it's tricky until I garner feedback like this, so, I really do appreciate you answering the questions.

Big thumbs up and keep em coming.  thumbs up

It was a tongue in cheek comment cos i felt like a naughty boy being told off, was just light hearted and not serious at all. Don't take it personally.

Trust me i am more than aware on how much work goes into sites of this size and popularity, see my occupation if you are in any doubt. You have built a great site and more importantly a great reputation, all other forums are in decline because of this one - that is one hell of an achievement.

Answering 15 short questions is a drop in the ocean (timewise) compared to the work you have to do, however so far this thread hasn't filled in 3 pages yet. This is the general apathy people have towards things that are working well.

I understand fully, how important people taking ten minutes to provide feedback is for you and i hope that people reading any of this will also add their comments.

COME ON PEOPLE, GIVE YOUR FEEDBACK (YOUR WAY OF SAYING THANKS FOR ALL THE HARD WORK THAT IS PUT IN HERE)

(1) How often do you visit the site?

Every couple of days

(2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance?

Check the blogs, read new articles

(3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage?

Forum is set as homepage

(4) Which sections do you frequent the most?

Blogs and news

(5) Which sections do your frequent the least?

Where to play

(6) Which are your favourite sections?

Blogs and Tankbank

(7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion?

Nothing leaps out as particularly useless...

(Cool Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why?

Yes

(9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar?

The blogs, the Tankbank should be in with the blogs also.

(10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility?

I don't particularly like the colour scheme.

(11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is?

Yes

(12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?)

I would participate, but would doubt the results would have much value.

(13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have?

Some of the news stories require more in-depth analysis, perhaps links to the sources or use of guest writers would help.

(14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all?

I wouldn't miss it terribly at the moment, but I think the site has the potential to become something that I would miss.

(15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site?

I'd like to see more news and articles from different writers. The stuff that Snoops and Jen do is great but they can't provide enough interesting material to keep the site fresh every day. Perhaps there should be a pool of writers each asked to produce something weekly or monthly to give us a good read daily.

(1) How often do you visit the site?

The forums twice a day or in the background if playing poker.

(2) Once on the site, do you browse, or just take a fleeting glance?

Browse for new stuff

(3) Do you have blondepoker.com set as your browser’s homepage?

Nope google.

(4) Which sections do you frequent the most?

Forums

(5) Which sections do your frequent the least?

Results, reports

(6) Which are your favourite sections?

News, forums

(7) Which sections do you think are a waste of time and perhaps worthy of deletion?

None

(Cool Do you like the content we offer? If ‘no’, why?

I personally dont think there is enough dynamic content on the website to justify me visiting alot. The forums are very good.

(9) Are there any sections which you believe should be advertised on the homepage, rather than just located in the menu bar?

Pass

(10) What are your thoughts on the current design? Do you approve? What changes would you make if this were your responsibility?

I like its good.

(11) Has the relaunch of the site been a positive step forward? If ‘no’, then why do you think this is?

Yes becasue before it was a shell with no content, now at least it its building up nicely.

(12) Would you use a weekly poll located on the homepage which asked various questions? (eg, Which of the following is your favourite poker book?)

Yes

(13) What would you like to see the site offer that it doesn’t currently have?

More stories, news from different sources

(14) How would you feel if blonde were to get rid of the site altogether, just leaving the cardroom and the forum? Would you miss it at all?

Not right now no, but I could see a time where the site will develop into something worth visiting daily.

(15) Finally, do you have any further comments or suggestions regarding the blonde site?

I always like the "content is king" quote for websites. It's key for people wanting to return daily to the same sites. The main website I believe is good, its still relatively new and will no doubt improve interms of its content and direction over time. At the moment the forums are the only place I head to, a quick glance on the main site now and then. Quiz/Caption comps etc are a real good step in the right direction and I really like how its going.

LeeHack said, in his honest & constructive reply....

When i visit a forum, immediately i want to know, which threads have new posts in since i last visited, whether i have read the thread is immaterial, i will open each one up and read the newest posts etc.

There is - I think - a setting on your Profile whereby you can see what Posts have been made since your last visit. Not 100% sure on that though.
