Thanks Sark. Wins or losses don't alter the quality of my days one iota - poker is just a game. I happen to thoroughly enjoy it, but if getting beat upset me, I'd give it up in a flash.

I've had a nice profitable day online, won 1 comp, & 12th or 13th of 419 (forgot already, see!) in another - but the highlight of today for me - by a country mile - was "The Life of Birds" with David Atenborough on UK History, all day. Magnifique!

Atenborough is one of my hero's. I haven't seen that show though. I hope I have half his energy at 75. It is great to see someone so enthusiastic about their chosen field

The series must be a contender for the greatest TV Series EVER made. The camerawork was just extraordinary. Very moving.

Trust me guys - watch a TV series like "Life of Birds" & you will never get upset at Poker again. Everything seems so insignificant after watching that.

Mother Nature should be made a Dame, or a Lord, or summat. How on earth did things of such beauty get created?

I love birds.   My next door neighbours hate them.  They keep complaining for no reason about me feeding them.  We have had many confrontations over the years.  One day he came over and threatened me as I was leaving for work.

I thought about it all day and plotted my revenge.  When I got home, I found he had blocked the cat flaps up that allow my cat to walk easily through the thick hedges between his house and mine. My cat is old and was hit by a car around six years ago. He had a few operations and made a good recovery, but he isn't the best jumper now.  When I saw he had blocked the cat flaps, that made me angry.

It was summer and I knew he was working really long hours at the point.  So I climbed up onto his roof and put lots of seed and bread all along the gutters of his house.  As soon as it became light the following morning, his roof was bombarded by seagulls, crows and all kinds of other birds for hours looking for the food. There wasn't any way he was gonna sleep through that.  Cheesy

Sark is THE MAN!

Why on earth would anyone object to you feeding the birds?

What sort of cat you got Sark? I have a short-hair, "Angell", pure white, one blue eye, one green, he's well cool.

I had an old lady (cat) too, she was about 15 or more, I loved her to bits, full of character, a tabby. She was deaf, & not very mobile, she'd had an accident when young, Very feisty too! I just idolised her. But I had to put her to sleep a couple of months back.

That's a shame about your cat tikay

I have a tabby.  He lives with my dad.  After his accident he lost his tail and his legs abit dodgy. The vet did a good job putting him back together.  we joke now that he used to be a tank buster ( cars ) and as he is now retired from that line of work, he has to stay away from the roads.  So far he has paid attention and does stay away.

My neighbour hates all animals, especially birds and cats.

Hard to fathom anyone who hates all animals & birds. What DOES he like?
