i like running ante competitions, i think it induces more action with the extra money in the pot... when it gets late in a comp if you don't play for a couple of rounds it can really damage your stack! Also it is brilliant for the aggressive players as you can increase your chips without even getting a hand, always one of my favourites

have to admit i really think that the prize structure in competitions has to be altered... there just too top heavy, in alot of these events its an acheivement to make the final by itself, yet you can make the final and hardly make a penny! An example was the 100 comps at newcastle in the recent festival (really good even tho i never got a sniff of a final, cash was ok tho

) for coming 10th you got 380, now anyone who made 180 would've been doing brilliant as a top up at least was nearly mandatory! The winner of this one was scheduled to pick up around 8000, there was a multi way deal i think tho involving around seven.
Surely they should split the prize money more evenly, this would stop all the deals happening as the jump would be far less. 5000 for example would'nt have been a bad prize for the investment of a 100, now i think this has been touched upon before in another thread and some sort of new structure has to be implemented, across all of the casinos even tho the big top prizes look good for drawing people in! When these competitions get to the final they are more often than not a bit of a crapshoot, a change is needed or deals will continue being made as they make sense...
now i think some of this has made sense tho i've probably babbled on a bit, english was'nt my best subject at school... come to think of it, not sure what was really! Drama and maths the 2 key assets for budding poker players... wish i'd done phsycology now at Alevel instead of Economics, tho i here Game theory helps! I best go do some reading!
Cheers
