I know this has question been posted a thousand times before, but I'm hoping for some advice from anyone who may have been over relatively recently.

I'll be hitting Vegas for the first time in a couple of weeks, for 3 nights, as the culmination of a LA/San Fran/Vegas road trip.

I'll have my good lady tagging along, but I'm hoping she'll be kept busy at the spa/shopping etc. so hopefully I'll have a decent amount of time to devote to poker.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or experience of the best places to play. I'm there Saturday 17th - Tuesday 21st, staying at the Bellagio.

Not that interested in cash games, would like to play a few multis and maybe some single tables as well. I'm not a high stakes player by any means, so would be looking at buy-ins between about $100-$300 or so, the easier the competition the better!

Any pearls of wisdom?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers Rod!

Been down to Cin's a few times but must keep missing you... I'll be down when I get back, either with a big roll to splash around, or my last twenty quid, depending on how the cards treat me over there (most likely the latter)...

Caesars Palace 12 noon $80 +$50 (1 rebuy) NLHE and 7pm $120 + $50 (I think) 1 rebuy.

4500 chips with rebuy and 40 minute levels.

Wynn has $300 NLHE freezouts..think Wednesday Friday Saturday?

the best thing to do is head to the card room as soon as you get to the bellagio. there is a paper called poker player that lists all the daily poker tounrnies in vegas.

wynn is the best for $300 multies. off the top of my head they start at 12 on monday to thursday. the clock is pretty slow so you'll get to play a lot of poker. they also do $80 sats from around 9 in the morning, with the top 2 going into the $300 tourney.

binions does weekend tournies around the $100 mark. again, you should get enough time to play a few hands and it does feel special playing there. i think i heard it wont be around much longer.

the mirage has multies at 7pm on week nights. i think these cost around $120.

sit and go tourneys are relatively new to vegas. ive played a few $50 ones at the aladdin (sundays only) and the mgm. but you may find they become pre flop all in fests pretty quickly. they also take a fair bit of rake out the prize fund. the mirage has started doing these too, at higher levels ($100+). these may be better for you.

i know you didn't ask for it, but 2 san francisco tips for you....

1. alcatraz. the number 1 attraction in san fran is the best value too. if you fancy going book now, as it fills up early. its best going there on the first ferry of the day, before it gets full of tourists. the ranger talks are good fun to listen to. there will be a notice board near the jetty which gives a list of the talks of the day. http://www.nps.gov/alcatraz/

2. if your in san francisco on the weekend and like chinese food then try wok wiz tours 'i can't believe i ate my way though chinatown'. testicles have never tasted so good http://www.wokwiz.com/
