I had a table tennis match last night, it was summer league which is a handicap match.  I'm a div 3 player and the team we were playing all play for the bottom team in division 4 (bottom division).  In my first game I was playing against a player with one of the worst records in the whole league.  She had a ten point start on me up to 21.  I absolutely dewstroyed her, my game is such that she was giving me easy shots to smash.  Basically my serve is hard to deal with and if it does get returned I can normally end it there.  I won 21-15 21-17.

One of my players turned up late and played her.  After his game with her he told me that he didn't want to thrash her.  I explained that was not the way I saw it and I wanted to win to the bestof my ability.

If you knew (in any sport) that you cuold let someone get a few points on you and still win would you, or would you win at all costs?

he finished 1 b4 me, best game of darts i've ever played but I played as I would have done in a league match
