I've been playing at Crypto and UB and doing OK, but I keep on hearing how fishy Party is and they sent me a reload bonus so I thought I'd give it a go. I've played 230 hands and I've lost $300.

These aren't bad beats I need to work out how to play psychopathically aggressive nutcases. I'm getting raised all the time post flop, preflop people are calling with any 2 no matter how big my raise, my head is spinning, I can't work out WTF to do. These games must be very easy to beat but I've never been very good against hyper aggro players. The players at UB seem to be a lot more passive and easy for me to deal with.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful.

Hand 1

This looks bad on it's own and no doubt I was on tilt big time here but where should I be folding? On the flop when I get min raised? If I fold to a min raise every time I'm very exploitable no?

I think maybe it's my attitude that's the problem. I've heard so much about how bad Party players are that I'm giving them no credit for a hand. Or maybe I'm just a calling station fish?

I'm going to 1 table for a while telling myself that I'm on High Stakes Poker and that my world class opponents will be playing any 2 very aggressively.

You seem to be making the pots big wih vulnerable hands, if you keep the pot smaller you make your decisions a lot easier. 1 pair hands vs loose players should be played carefully. I'd tighten up after the flop and wait for a good spot to milk the bad players. There is nothing with just calling bets and then getting busy when you hit a tasty flop.

Once you figure out how to play these guys you'll want to play with them all day long!

Byron I also play UB a lot and IMO you have to be aggressive to play there. The "bet pot" button makes the cash players play better without them knowing it.

Party however is the other way. Everyone there plays with an aggression (usually pre flop) and I find it is best to play the very boring tight-aggressive - post flop especially. You wont be short of people paying off your big hands so stay away from anything marginal.

Don't get into raising escapades pre flop as folks there don't put anything down. Play to minimise outdraws by playing post flop poker, big betting the turn when they are slim to dead.

Top pair will be good against the super aggressive player but why bother when there are so many there to pay off your genuine hands?

OK,

Hand 1 - You are out of positon, It is a terrrible flop for you, low and co-ordinated. sometimes i would continuation bet but would definately fold, even to the min raise as when u miss on the turn u are gonna have to check again and its not a good situation to be in. To be honest I would just check fold the flop in this instance in a cash game

Hand 2 - The raise on the flop is ok, but at these limits if someone has a part of the flop they are going to call you and your draw is not the best by any strecth of the imagination. You haver to look at the texture of the flop again, with a K and a Q on there it is very likely that he has a piece and would not advocate raisin in this instance. You have to call on the river due to the size of the pot.

Hand 3 - At these limits i would happily go in on the flop with KK, but calling the all in after the A hits is a mistake IMO. You go with it on the flop because you are gonna get action from a lot of hands you crush, AT, KT, QT JT, JJ QQ, even 88 99 still find calls at the $100NL buy in games

Hand 4 - He shoudl fold on the flop, and then your hand gets beat on the turn, you get to see cheap river card to re-draw to the boa. U miss and dont invest anymore cash. Playd it fine IMO

Hand 5 -10 6, ugh, shocking play by him, dont worry about, get a note on him and wait to take his money on the future

On Party play tight as a nut and put your trappers hat and lumberjack shirt on!

When you hit big, your value bets will be paid off

Stay away from marginals and big draws....play made hands fast and make the gamblers make mistakes.

Personally I avoid Party...variance in returns is almost unavoidable and other sites have far more predictable ABC players you can push off/outplay.

Thanks everyone, shows what a great forum this is when I put up an on tilt, ranting post and get serious replys from such quality players.

I ended up 7 buyins down but am slowly getting it back today.

TightEnd, I know what you're saying but I think it's important for a learner such as myself to play a variety of opponents and the truley big bucks for excellent players seem to be on Party.

The images on this thread are down now unfortunately but they were showing PT stats of this guy pulling roughly $200K a month out of Party 10-20.

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=5701495&page=0&fpart=all&vc=1

I realise there's more chance of me winning the lottery than doing those kind of numbers but it's what's inspiring me to keep on working on my game.
