Now that I have regained my laptop, more tales from outside, rather than insight from inside...

How about some Aces-Cracking Bad Re-raise News Now?

So, there's a mid position limp, a predictable raise to 1,000 from the button, and then a young player in the small blind makes it 2,500, less predictably, from the manner in which he's been playing.

The original limper then makes a big old bet of all-in, for his 35k or so, covering both other players still in by a long way.  The button folds, but the small blind calls quick as a flash for a little under 10,000 with his .  The big re-raiser shows

Flop: Two Diamonds
Turn:
River:

A torrent of swearing from the French Aces-holder, in a mixture of colourful languages.

Last year's champ Roland de Wolfe, looking very summery with his white shirt and head-balanced sunglasses.  He's always been one of these players who can play these big tournaments while simultaneously chatting with whoever speaks his language sitting next to him, or across from him, or in the same room as him.

For example, just now, I heard him talking sports betting with Willie and Tony G (football, of course).  Tony G said, "If you can find me as a punter, you're a millionaire - I'm the worst sports bettor in the world."

I just found out about DC's elevating chips - but about half an hour previously when he had only 18k, I saw him take a couple of smaller pots from the same person with that quietly deliberate manner which is so much his style, and he looks to be as comfortable as can be.

Dinner break in 20 minutes, for that lengthy hour and three quarters - I think I may be off in search of steak with Norwegian blogger BA.

And sticking with the theme, here's a photo I left out of my last batch - the now exited Ben 'Milkybarkid' Grundy with a Norseman sat to his right - Snoopy challenge - Name That Norwegian!

Willie Tann, looking inscrutable - a good asset in poker, I'm told.

And finally, Mikael Thuritz, I believe, chatting to Mark Teltscher (the one in the stripey shirt who played yesterday, if that picture of him at the table confuses anyone).  As far as I know he only gets to play one Day One like everyone else.

We are surfing the coverage ourselves, after climbing the eiffel tower and a peek into notre dame.
Watching the brasil-croatia game after a disppointing 0-0 by france.

Back in action later, and as i can't find the link: when does it start tomorrow?
