There is a slight confusion over payouts as the wpt online prizes don't equate to the ones being advertised here...

from wpt site...

1st = $997,500 (€774k)

2nd = $498,750 (€395k)

3rd = 341,250 (€270k)

Are those figures not the same, allowing for the $/€ Rate?

On their backs.

If Jani wins he takes the chip lead.

Jani =

Grundtvig =

Board = three clubs

First on the board here is €712k

I've been told that the ones we have here are the correct ones though.

Thanks for the updates so far. I had a feeling it would get down to Sointula and Grundtvig out of the finalists.

And although Jani just doubled up to chip leader, Christian is hardly giving up.  He just re-raised Jani's button raise to 300k, making him pass, and just now he called Jani's button raise to 150,000.

They saw a flop (yes! a flop!) .
Christian checked, Jani threw in the one red 200k plaque, and Christian moved in.  Again, the aggressive Mr. Sointula was forced to pass.  The Danes in the room are still very excited.

Jen,

Any chance of a chip-count and blinds/antes update?

Thanks.

HI,

Great blog guys.

For your info. Grundvig goes under the name "the Stamp" in Denmark....he used to sell stamps :-) This could by the way be the second WPT win for the danish pokerteam this year! "Carlos" won the 5 diammonds at bellagio!

Anther flop, this time the
Christian bet 75k, Jani raised-225k, pass...

And I think I heard Mike Sexton correctly when he said the blinds just became 40k/80k!  Pricey, or what.  Again something tells me they're not getting the same degree of Play they've had through the previous three days.

Christian Grundtvig stick in a fancy red plaque preflop.

Jani calls.

Flop =

Jani moves all-in.

Christian folds.

This is pretty much standard for the WPT. The casino controls the structure until the televised final table and then they are forced to play it by WPT's structure for the television, to reduce editing costs and to keep the crowd more alive throughout.

More's the pity...

As for the counts, El Yortle et al, really can't guess from the TV - I reckon Jani is still the leader but there isn't a lot between them.  If I can get into the StudioRoom in the next break I'll try to get some counts, as there's something about the flat image on TV which makes it very hard to estimate the stacks.

5 minute break...

Just about enough time for the players to take a number two

Ah fair enough. Wasn't sure how much live editing was done for on-screen chip displays. Thanks anyway.
