I've been playing the local casino comps for the live buzz lately and have been final tabling consistently and then creaming the dealers choice game which is basically a 6 card omaha game with some bottomless pocketed loons.

What is getting on my nerves is the well meaning people who keep giving me advice on how to play when i haven't asked for it. I know they mean well but when my results are far better than theirs i thought they would stop but they don't. How do i politely say 'shut the @#%& up, i know what i'm doing'?

I am serious by the way, i really don't know what to say without offending them.

why would you care about offending someone thats interfering in your business.

tell them to "be quiet", simple.

When i used to spend a lot of time in the betting shop you used to always get the nuisances that wanted to gossip, put you on a horse, rubbish a jockey and so on.

Without making eye contact i'd say GO AWAY, then go about my bussiness.

If your not abrupt/ rude with these people they dont get the message.

If someones honestly getting on my nerves then i'm offended by having to endure that unrequested interference, why should i care about offending them.

I'll chat with people who look half sensible but if your talking about the proper nuisances its the only way to deal with them.

Actually those big headphones are connected to his phone, he keeps on ringing me up and asking for advice on how to play his hands.

I'm gonna have to change my number.

Take a pad of paper to the casino, and ask them to write it down for you.

Slightly curious as to how many people actually would.  Grin

I used to do this to newmanseye when he was pissing me off by talking too much. Everything he said, I would write down, oftentimes asking him to repeat himself so I could capture his priceless monologues.

id smile and ask them 'are you giving me your tips so i lose the next game against you? No thanks pal, ill play my game and you play yours'
you could force out a little chuckle here so they know you are being good humoured. failing that just say 'thanks, ill keep that in mind' Smiley

is it just me or do other people get this when on a golf course? you'd tee up and duff your first tee shot and then get some muppet telling you that you hit it wrong and that you probably swing out to in or lifted a heel up or something....and then you watch as most of his shots are sliced, hooked, duffed, thin, thick etc while the rest of yours sail high and (nearly) straight  Cheesy
