Hi guys,

Well I'd like to think the league was a moderate success for those who participated. It was fun, there was some great banter and some better performances.

Over the following week there will be no league events whilst we review the league set up. It will be changing slightly so that you can only have 5 scores count towards your total, to give others who don't play as much an equal shot at the league prizes.

Please post any other league suggestions here in this thread for discussion.

One thing mentioned a lot was an Omaha event. So this Weds at 9PM during our "league free" week there will be a $10 PL Omaha freezeout to guage the demand. If it doesn't sell well we wont include it in the league. Simple as that really.

For those who don't play Omaha, don't worry too much as in the next league only your top 5 scores will count for your total - so you don't have to play the Omaha events to still have a shot at it. (Also the Omaha events will typically have smaller fields so will be worth less points.)

What I really want to know about the league is:

Are there enough/too many events?

Are the start times ok?

Is everyone happy keeping the $3 rebuy? (I quite like it myself)

Is there anything we can change to improve it?

Please note that also during this week there will be a HUGE give away on blondepokerleague (which tikay will explain more about) and also note that there is another WSOP Freeroll coming up, with satellites already in progress - see my other post on it, or check out www.blondepoker.com.

Thanks,

Aaron

Hello Aaron,
I thought the league was great fun, competitive and profitable! Congrats to b-strider who played consistently well.
The timing fits well for me on those days I can play. House quiet -dog's fed etc. The addition of omaha is a good idea. I don't play normally - or normally play, but others who do have their chance. I will join in if I can. The 5 best tourney points table is also a good idea.

Hi Seamus,

Thanks for the feedback. The night of the comps will not change unless we add another event as these were decided by poll.

Thanks

Just a suggestion about the $3 re-buy...

Being a re buy it will always last longer than a F/O so i was a little puzzled as to why it startd later than the others (9pm).

Id suggest that it started at 8pm so poor saps like me who get up at 6am can get a semi decent nights sleep.

I like this event aswell as its where my best points return came from.

Good post Jim. Unless it is argued by someone else I will have it changed.

I think the 7pm start is too early. 9 is good but obv this is different for everyone.

I think 9 should be for one of the freezeouts instead as a rebuy lasts longer.

The 7 start is being scrapped.

If PLO gets the go ahead, can the $3 rebuy be PLO?

If people are happier with this instead of a PLO Freezeout then yes.

Agree with all of the above:

rebuy for Omaha instead of freezeout

earlier start for the rebuys, later starts for the freezeouts works for me (although I quite liked the 7pm start, I understand why others don't. 8pm'll be fine too, although it will clash with next month's Blue Square league... which will give me a difficult decision Wink )

I really enjoyed the league.

I only cashed once but it was worth it for the friendly nature and people I played with.

Can you not put one on at the weekend?
Omaha definitely NOT a rebuy, it makes the game a joke.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.
