And they have agreed to take £1,000 of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th places to give the 5th place finisher, whoever that may be, £4,000.

So he'll only lose just over £1,000 for finishing 5th.

So, & here's a conundrum for you - does that mean the Euro Ranking Points are frozen at 5th place?........

At least one player at the table insists it does NOT constitute a deal in that sense, & that the Ranking Points would be unaffected.

I'm glad it's not my decision, but if it were, I'd say, beyond a shadow of doubt, that's a deal, & the Ranking Points are frozen at 5th.

And it's all happening now - Keir Fitzgibbon finishes in 5th place, taking his consolation £4,000

He was short enough to auto-movein when it folded to him on the small blind.  Osman Mustanoglu in the big blind thought for a reasonable time before calling with his
Keir was caught with the (live?) Two Diamonds!

The first four cards brought the three cards which padded out Os's A 10 into the top straight; hands were shook and Keir heads for the cameras.

And there - perhaps - you have your evidence that doing a deal/saver DOES affect the way the game plays. The 5th place finisher had 16k with blinds at 1k-2k, & moved in with 7-2.

Play ends for the day with Os flopping trip Aces (he had the Ultimate PP), but failing to "get on".

Chip Counts imminent.

Just caught up again - thanks once more for the updates.

So we're left with Liam, Willie, Mr Cool & Osman Mustanoglu (sp?) then, are we?

Just ran into Keir in the packed Vic main room area - turns out he's actually made a tidy profit, as he satellited in on the cheap!  Extra level of tiredness, though, as he had another day's play in advance of these two lengthy ones.

And the final counts for the day:

Liam Flood             200,300
Willie Tann              90,500
Marc Goodwin          84,800
Osman Mustanoglu    74,400

So I'll be back tomorrow, 6pm for the thrilling conclusion to this Two Day Three Day No Limit Hold'em Freezeout.

Goodnight!

Jen is inputting the Chip Counts right now.

From me, a big thanks to our Heroine, Jen, to The Vic, to the Players, & to the blonde audience.

I'm cream-crackered, after a really weird weekend, much of which was spent heading north & South on trains.

But much was achieved, I had a ball, & life is good.

But I have to defer to the snoopster's immortal sign off.

Stick a fork in me.

Why should it affect the ranking points?
Its exactly the same principle as when something is saved for 10th place in a 9 handed final.

Good point Craig, I remember asking if the ranking points were frozen after a tenth place saver was done in Walsall.

The answer given was that that kind of deal did not affect the points Huh?
