Penalties AGAIN! Q/Finals AGAIN and another major tournement hopes Gone...AGAIN.

I had a really good time watching this down in London.

I have a confession to make, after Rooney was sent to the showers, I genuinely wanted you guys to win the game. (Not the whole thing of course, let's not get silly, just that game)

England played some positive football 10 handed and genuinely tried to win it outright instead of killing the game to penaltys.

Oh, and I was impressed by the good humour of most of the people I met. We went around Hyde Park yesterday getting England fans to practise their penaltys. An impromptu England vs Scotland vs Australia penalty shootout comp went on and the banter was flying in all directions.

Australia won (but as I'm ABE, wasn't too bothered  )

Good Luck in 2010, Hope more than one home nation makes it.
