The mosty interesting tube platform for me is Sloane Square, as not only did it used to have a pub on it, but it also has a river running through the top of it.

A pub? On a tube station? Wow.

As to the river, many Tube stations have subterranean watercourses running over, under, or alongside them, often yoi can hear the water, too. As one can at Shadwell &, I think, Whitechapel (East London Line platforms only).

Also love South Kensington, just because of the massive tunnel that goes directly from the station into the heart of museum-world.

Nemesis is right, the Euston platform I mentioned is at least twice as deep (from edge of platform to back wall) as any other, a real singular oddity.

I deffo think we need a Train Thread, sub-divided into Trains, Stations, Lines, & Platforms.

It's clear there is HUGE interest, particularly in Stations.

Why is the Euston (Tube) platform so "deep"? These "oddities" fascinate me.

They have a really weird "mini-signal" on two tracks (just 2, not all 4) at Whitechapel, which is really odd.

Has to be because of the fact that it is on the City line and that it is a major station for commuters.

But many - most - of the City Line platforms are normal depth.
