Well I've finally joined the 21st (or is it the 22nd, i can never work it out) century and got an ipod. Does anyone have any good podcast recommendations? Preferably poker ones, but if there are any recommendations for anything else, audiobooks or whatever I'd be obliged.

I did make the mistake of buying A Brief History of Everything before finding out that it was also narrated by Hawking, now god bless the guy, he doesn't have his troubles to look for, but 3 and a half hours of synthesised, broken speech is a sure fire recipe for a thumping headache.

As far as poker goes, 'the circuit' is the podcast from cardplayer and that is excellent, they are having daily shows from the wsop at the moment with plenty of big names making appearances on the show. Pocket fives also has a podcast but it seems to be more advertising how well there own members are doing rather than any useful poker information IMO.

On a general note, i would highly recommend getting both series of the ricky gervais show from itunes. It costs about £4 for the series i think, 6 episodes in each and it is comedy genius. It is laugh out loud stuff and i have had many embarrasing moments on trains etc.. when ive been uncontrollably laughing to myslef!

these are pretty funny especially if you were following the world cup.

there are 18 ricky gervais podcasts (just in case you missed a few pab.)

Out of interest did Karl begin to annoy you at the towards the end?

I liked the Green Plastic P5's PodCast.  He is the UB equivalent of H@££INGGOL.  There is some good advice about cash games

you will probably know sark, has H@££INGGOL not been doing so well at 25/50? never seems to have the monstrous stacks.

The Podcasts I subscribe to are:

MSR:POKER Podcast - based in Vegas the guy who hosts it is a stand up commedian so quite enjoyable.

Joe Average Poker - Enjoyable hand analysis, and tournament reviews from arround the US

Rouders The Poker show - From Canada always seems to get top Guests

The Circuit - Excellent interviews and reports from the top WPT and WSOP events

Hope this helps

Cheers folks,

I'll download a few and see what they're like.

On the non-poker side I'd recommend the Now Show (radio four), its basically the Mary Whitehouse Experience but without Rob Newman (boo!) and David Baddiel (hooray!). Oh, and the Adam & Joe show, just cos I always liked those guys.

Not sure mate.  I was on a waiting list for my low micro limit game the other day. The tables were really busy, so I was using the time to untangle some strimmer cables.  I also had the $25/50 NL game in the corner of my screen. He was playing all three tables ( $5000 buy-in max ). On one table he had around $11,000. The other he had $17,000.  And the other he had $43,000.   I won $4 at my game, so was happy  Cheesy

Poker Diagram Poker Podcats are quite fun to listen to as well. 2 guys just playing poker online basically and talking about it. Makes you want to shout at the ipod every now and then... but they get better as the shows go on! Think there about about 40 odd shows now.
