I keep getting a virus alert from Avast saying a trojan has been detected and I aint got a clue what to do, so was wondering if anybody could help.

I click on properties in the chest and i get this message: Virus has been detected!
File Name: ld20C3.tmp
FileID: 12
Virus Description: Win32:Small-TF [Trj]

It seems to be 2 differant things,  the other one is: File Name: ldDF85.tmp
FileID: 15
Virus Description: Win32:Zlob-BN [Trj]

Which comes directly after the other one.

Make sure your virus software is upto date then use it to clean your machine. I would disconnect from the internet until you have cleaned the machine.

Agreed, never turn off sys restore, it is the best thing microsoft ever invented!!!!!!!!!!
As for the original problem, go onto the symantec website and run their online scanners (there are 2).
Or google online scanner.

More likely spyware - sounds like a temp internet file.

First, clean out your temp internet files (online and offline), THEN :

Download, update and run "spybot" and "adaware" - both are free

You should be ok then
