Oh, and as for "system restore" being the best thing microsoft ever invented?!?!??! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You CANNOT rid your system of a virus if you have this running -  virus hide in the "windows protected" files and CANNOT be cleaned UNTIL you turn system restore off.

Advise if you ever reload your machine/buy a new hard drive :

1) Buy 2 of the hard drives (exact same type sizze etc...) I would recomend maxtor purely as they have free cloning drive software on their site.
2) Install your o/s AND software that you use - ie get the new drive to hpw you want your system to be
3) Hook up the 2nd hard drive, clone the contents of the first drive to it
4) disconnect the 2nd drive and store it somewhere safe.

In the event of a system faliure, re connect the 2nd drive and clone the contents back to the first drive, and your system is restored to its origional state.

That seems to be a file that AOL's spyware program has removed but kept a backup of incase you would like to restore it.

Viruses don't "hide" in the restore folder, windows can backup a virus in this folder as part of sys restore functionality.
To remove this you need to switch it off, reboot and run a scan. Then RE ENABLE it, it is an excellent bit of kit, invaluable.

Sometimes you have to suffer a little bit in your youth to motivate yourself to succeed in later life.
Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft?
Of course not.
