I am not sure what invention has benefited the world the most.  However one that would be high up on my list would be the  WISDOM  "easy floss DAILY FLOSSER".  Until yesterday I had never seen one of these things.  I had always used the traditional dental floss.  While at my dentists appointment yesterday, I mentioned to my hygienist that reaching the back teeth with dental floss was an incredibly difficult task as I had a sore jaw after being punched recently.

She presented me with a short stick with a piece on dental floss attached to the end.  As soon as I got home I rushed to the mirror to try my new toy.  Wow, it is fantastic.  I liked it so much, I went to boots today and bought a pack of 15.  It basically allows you to reach the difficult areas in your mouth with ease.  It has a long handle and also has a pick bit contained in the handle.  What a fantastic invention.

If you rush quickly and get yourself down to boots, they are doing a special offer of two packs for £2.29.

I recommend it.

Back to the greatest invention ever. It may be one of these :  alarm clocks, batteries, phone, wheel, vaccines, light bulbs or the computer.  But I will vote for the DAILY FLOSSER.

This is something no two people will ever agree on.  But after giving it five mintues of thinking I came up with lists, lightbulb, internet, computers, telephones, televisions, etc.  But the thing that all these things are dependant on electricity.  So I'm going to give that my vote.

Although thinking about this I kept saying to myself whats the greatest invention of all time and then it hit me.....TIME.  Where would we be without the clock and the calander.  So maybe the greatest invention of all time is time.

Time isn't an invention, just like gravity isn't an invention.

Methods to tell the time have been invented, but the passage of time is one of those things that our universe relys upon in order for life to be sustained.

But slicing it yerself is awfully messy and I never slice straight!

It ends up thick at one end and thin at the other  -  bit like me really!

Of course time is an invention... we chose for there to be 24 hours in a day 60 minutes in an hour. Our definition of the passing of "time" (for want of a better word) is our own making... the linear manner of it isn't, however. Our understanding of linear time is our own invention, we probably have little understanding of the true manner of passing of linear "time".

Gosh that's a bit heavy for this time of night innit?

Clocks do keep everything in order.  Alarm clocks keep us on time, although they are those annoying things that send a piercing beep into your head at 6am every morning.  One day I will mentally program my mind to wake my body up without the need for an alarm clock.  When that happens there will be calm in my life.
