In the luton shootout last night. For me, this is worthy to mention!!!

Horrible starting table, ElBlondie two to my left..only tried stealing his blind once and once was enough! and Iwan Jones just along from him. The guy seems to be in a patch of form at the moment

I double up with AA against a nice gentlemen who sticks it all in on a flush draw and misses, a welcome change of luck for me, and we're down to five when I'm SB and Dave is BB

I look down at Ah9h and limp, resolved to go to battle with it if Blondie sticks it in, as he has just done three times in the last four hands....the five of us have no more than 12bb maximum each

He goes all in, I grit my teeth and call and beat KQ after a Q on the flop with a turn/river of 9 and A

OK, so the hand played itself, but I can at least notch one up on the poker bedpost!

So the poker gods, realising it will never do to knock out the man once described as the "Queen Mother of Poker" present me with KQ on the SB four handed and Iwan Jones on the BB. I raise and am re-raised all in. I've laid down twice to Iwan before and he's shown AA each time. I'm not being bullied this time (which is my read...what a birdbrain)  and call. He turns over AA again!!!

He's a heck of a player though!

A good night, and a privilege to play with ElBlondie...I watched, listened and learned.

Now then, let me tell you how I knocked ElBlondie out of a tournament.......

There was another table that had Camel on it, with Lawrence Gosney 3 to his left. Camel was doing his usual lark, tickle Raise every hand, & Lawrence was RR-ing Camel EVERY time. Camel was getting sooooo frustrated. Camel was Camel-ed. It's just lovely to watch these guys play.

To see the art of poker at it's best, Tight End would have observed the hand between El Blondie & Matey Boy, when they both had identical hands, Q-T, when the flop came T-T-x. El Blondie had position, but it was a joy to watch how he played it. Matey Boy never went away, & they split it, but it was cool to see how Dave played it. Me, I'd have been traoping till the River, but DC just kept betting every street, in last position, looking for all the world like he was stealing.
