Joe Awada just doubled up

I could see that Tom Franklin had A-9 on an Ace high board, but I couldn't get anywhere near Joe card's.

I'm sure I heard someone mention A-7 off, which would suggest he made 2 pair somewhere along the line.

They making it intentionally difficult for me to report now. In fact, I'm basically standing with everyone else, which makes me wonder why I've got a media pass around my neck.

We all know how tough it is for you guys out there snoops. Keep your chins up, we really apprciate the job you are doing.

Joe Awada OUT in 14th place, winning $29,786

He was now the short stack, by quite a long way - and although I was watching that table originally because I think he doubled a micro-stack into a short one off an annoyed-looking Cliff Cantor, he moved in again right away, this time with KQ.  I think it was Captain Tom Franklin (in the hat) who took the shot to get rid of him with J7, and a seven took the feared Mr. Awada (bottom left)  out of the tournament.

Hey, it's only the struggle through the crowd, walk down the corridor and into the press room that stops us getting there first!!  If we could set up on an adjacent table we'd be pretty timely too

In any case, we have quite a ways to go before the final six are determined, so although Snoopy is losing his rag a bit (especially at a certain Brown Suit who doesn't think politeness is a prerequisite for dealing with us) I am trying to get a relaxed watch/write-up swap going on rather than our both craning over the same invisible cards at the same time.

Completely off topic, there was a car parked between my apartment building and the next door one the other day whose alarm kept going off, after a whole night of this and loads of complaining the residents managed to get it towed away, all is well with the world.

Well the mother of all thunder storms has just come ashore and managed to set off the car alarm of every car in the car park! PMSL. People waking up wondering what the fuck is going on, coming out onto their balcony's and getting soaked, genius. Couldn't ask for better entertainment!

How about some Pab photos - take your pic (ahem) from Blurry, or Less Blurry but With A Guy's Tongue in the Way...

Now his table is just four-handed, it's the 2-table bubble and short-short-handed play is going on.

The live updates aren't always quicker on cp and the Awada hand didn't actually get reported any quicker that i saw.

I just like being a smart ass.

No offense meant and i know blonde provides the best updates Smiley

I'm off to bed very shortly anyway.

A resilient Pab climbs to 100k.

Pab raises 20k from the button, Gaskell calls from the small blind.

Flop = 2-9-4

Pab bets and wins

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

The cardplayer guys are quite funny. They stand like soldiers inbetween the table, a really serious look on their face. And when they've spotted a hand, they use these fancy ear and mout-pieces to report back to base.

And somehow we missed the exit of 13th place finisher Philippe Boucher (Canadian, I am told) who takes home $33,361 (or whatever you get after tax if you're Canadian...).

Brief pause as they resit themselves, and there was muttering about a colour-up too.
