I was just wondering what effect Internet players have had on the Vegas locals attitudes to unknown players?

In many of the texts I have seen on poker, there is always a reference to "Hometown heroes going to Vegas and going broke".  I even read somewhere that this happened to DN the first couple of times he went to Vegas.

However, nowadays there is the advantage of easily obtainable strategy guides and games such as the weekly $200+15 MTT on Stars. Many of the top players compete in games such as these.  So many unknown players have already played some of the Vegas regulars.

There was a similar post to this a few months back, but slightly different ( I think it was posted by a handsome Penguin  Cheesy )

I listened to a radio segment on one of the sites recently. Mike Matasow was ranting about hometown heroes coming to Vegas and going broke. But surely the hometown heroes have much more experience from various sources, including online play compared with previous eras. Many of the online players have beaten the recognised pro's online.

Is there such a big occurrence of so called "Hometown Heroes" going to Vegas and getting cleaned out or has the rise of Internet Poker nullified this happening ( not sure nullified is the correct word to use. It was the only one I could think of  Cheesy )
