I've decided that i'm gonna take a break from playing poker, over the last 8 months i have had so much variance in both luck and play that its time to take a sebatical.

One of my main reasons for this is I'm not enjoying the poker at the moment, My reads are sound about 70% of the time, however luck is taking the pleasure out of the game for me.

I think its best to regroup, and get to know the "enemy" better.

I will still be postying so theres no getting rid of me lol.

Should i have the self restraint!!,  my next match should be the night before blondebash 3.

Good luck at the tables guys.

I don't blame you, a break is allways good to regroup and to come back energised for action.

Billy, that post is gonna have grown men weeping like babies, they have come to rely on you for paying their food bills and gas bills etc.   I hope you find time to pop into the $5 extendeds now and again...between you and robertfish, myself and mfi's blonde bash expenses are all but paid for.

when you do come back after your break, play for the fun of playing, play small enough stakes so that you arent putting yourself or your bankroll under pressure.

we will miss you at the tables ya big fish.... come back soon Wink

You are a bugger Kev!!   Cheesy

The fact that i'm losing regularly at the moment reinforces my decision to take a break. I mean losing a last longer with you Kev is enough to make most guys give up the  sport!!

Dave, Gail and I may be travelling down the nigfht before BB3 and if so we will be playing the comp at walsall to "warm up".

Robert, I would call you a bugger, but you are already a lawyer so no point to insult the buggers!

 good luck bill.

i went through a period like this not too long ago.

i was getting sick of playing all the time, i still loved the game but didnt like playing it anymore.

i was losing money and i was under pressure from certain people.

i decided to take a break for a month and only lasted 2 weeks. before i decided i didnt want to stop i just wanted to enjoy playing again

read a couple of books, think about your circumstances and what you want from playing poker and when you feel ready to come back im sure youll feel enlightened and refreshed and itll do your game a world of good.

 good luck.

LOL another classic Billy post.

This is weird but I was actually talking about you down the pub with the TPT boys yesterday saying your game was all about confidence (I know that is the case for most of us but you especially so). When your running well you think your invincible & when your not you reckon you'll never win another hand never mind a comp. You take variance personally but we've all been there. I had my best 5/6 months in between my worst 2 spells so I dont get too elated when I'm running hot or too despondant when I'm not.

Have a couple of days off, forget about poker completly & you'll be raring to go by the weekend.

BTW I'm not having a go at you, I just think you need a boot up the arse every now & then  thumbs up

Cheers mate, I know where you are coming from with the post and the advice & its appreciated, i do have a few other small reasons for taking a proper break, I really think i need to let my brain "de frag", I have noticed that i am not reacting to important tells and other info at the table as quick as I should be. As well as that I also want to work on some new techniques and strategys with a clear mind, without beats niggling me.

Oh and and consider my arse booted lol  Cheesy
