O'Leary has gone...great news surely. Half the team wouldn't play for him

Ellis is about to sell, this must be good news for team and fan spirit

New owner comes in and releases funds to a new manager, especially if it is a stupidly rich American called Randy.

Lets say new manager is Martin O'Neill

O'Neill clears out the dead wood and builds a new team around Sorensen, Barry and the talented kids like Ridgewell

They end up being a decent bet to beat points total forecasts on spread betting indices and an outside bet to get top 6

Discuss.

Hughes has offered 64mill today, what a MUG!!
O'Neil ain't daft enough to go there when he can choose any club he wants.
Relegation looms

Football aside....I analysed Villa once for a corporate client who at the time wanted stakes in football companies for its media interests

There is an awful lot of under-utilised property within Villa plc that is on the books at f all and is worth a bomb with the right permissions. £64m is not the stupidest potential purchase price I have seen.

The snag was always Ellis was never a seller.

Not Villa Park. A lot of land owned elsewhere in Birmingham, book price diddly squat bought decades ago

assuming they do get bought, I think they will need at least another season before they can challenge for anything.

I am amazed Martin O'Neill has gone to Villa, he knows he is safe regardless of who takes over.  He must be expecting a wedge to spend on players as that squad had 'fourth bottom' written all over it.
