Not sure if I approve of book/magazine reading at the table, but great results for sure.

Taking Karabiner's point, I was asked to remove a book from the table once, on the grounds that I could secrete cards within it....!

John Law takes a lovely pot against Kerrigan in a strange hand. Kerrigan raises  with 9-9, John calls with 7-10 spades, no spades come, no 7 or T either, but a board of 6-9-J-Q-K gives no escape for Kerigan, & John takes a nice pot, & is up to maybe 230k.

5 minute break now, so lets get some chip counts......

Craig has got me the counts, & Mr Kerrigan's moniker is "Lesley" (or is that Leslie?).

John Law 238k

Jim Reid 132k

Camel 143k

Lesley Kerrigan 199k

Blinds are 3k - 6k - lovely structure, eh? Average is 175,000.

The guys are "fencing" now, Camel jutr RR'd John Law, Jim Reid put his 9-9 down, & John Law passed after a long dwell.

What a great final 4, I don't know L Kerrigan, but the other 3 are all "players" in the widest sense of the word. Wide, too......

Jim Reid OUT!

He had A-9, Leslie had QQ, & a flop of AAQ made it "no escape" for both olf them.

Jim takes home £3,825.

Three left.....

hi muirspud, yep, you were a little unlucky in that coup.
tikay had one of those 'unpleasant' drives home last night, one that we all take from time to time - he's made some adjustments to his play, got big chips early & whilst not being reckless, as the night wore on he always seemed to have the second best hand....such is poker.
chin up to you both, there's always another game, always something to be learnt.

Hi Muir,

Likewise, it was a real pleasure to play against you, I enjoyed it, & the luck was really with me the first half of the comp, I did the trick I did to you 4 or 5 times. But then I paid the bill later, & hand after hand went wrong for me, & then, I just fell to pieces, & played like a complete muppet. A lovely evening though, & I hope you & i meet again.

Julian - thanks mate. It stil pinches, but hey, worse things happen. Phil Quayle is here, we are having fun, & all is well with the world. Gutted for Dave too, 10th & no Euro Points, pah!.
