Weekend Footy Bets

At long last, I can have a punt on a few games again.

My selection for this weekend is

West Brom v Hull - Brom will probaby do well in the Championship and Hull haven't won a game for a while - it's a tough opener for them. They also have a few long term injuries that won't help although they have a couple of new players that will get the nod. Brom on the other hand, have Chris Perry and John Hartson starting for them. Comfortable home win.

Birmingham v Colchester. Guess which one I'm going for here Cheesy

Colchester are just promoted to their highest league ever and Birmingham will want to come straight back up. Colchester haven't made any new signings yet whilst Birmingham are strengthening their squad for a push back to the Premiership. Comfortable home win

I'd also like to say Leeds will beat Norwich too, but I don't feel as confident about that. Leeds are definatly contenders for the Championship top spot but Norwich are capable of doing a job. Can't see Norwich winning at Leeds, but a draw wouldn't surprise me.

I'm sticking with just the two games for now. It pays just over evens which is good enough for me.

You get some weird results the first few games of any season. I will reserve any bets till september, but i fancy leeds to be draw. They wont score many goals now hulse has gone.

Luton v Leicester....draw at 3.35 on Betfair, KO 12.30 tomorrow

the outsider of the three results on the exchanges, Luton have lost Howard and Nicholls and Leicester are solid now

good bet

Brum and WBA, yes agreed but too short for first weekend of the season where surprise results not uncommon

Today (German Cup 6pm KO) - Werder Bremen v Bayern Munich - Away Win
Betfair Price = 2.48

Tomorrow - Hearts v Celtic - Away Win!
Betfair Price = 2.36!!! - astounding price, will be a hard game but Celtic will never Lose this game

OverAll odds = 25/2 or 12.5

£10 will get you = £125.25p

Regardless of anything, i once lost a bet (the fixed odds thingy) that was due to pay around £2,300.
My only loser was Blues at home (top of the league and rightfully so) against Hull (rock bottom by miles and hadn't gotten an away point all season).
score 1-1 Cheesy

That was in the days when you would always have Rangers for a win as a banker.

At first I thought you'd jinxed me Kev, not only when Colchester equalised but then that numpty who got sent off 3 minutes into his debut!

I was going to lump on Rangers to win today too, but thankfully didn't - instead I put the money on a tennis match who lost instead! I did have a sneeky couple of quid on Gretnor to win which came in.

Thankfully, the betting Gods were with me today and I'm £16.90 up so far this season.

Not many upsets.

I had Leeds draw, a pen saved us from that! I am glad.

Earnshaw (spell?) must have had 6 clear cut chances for Norwhich today and missed them all
