You've called an allin with 9 high, with one card to come with 3 hearts and you've got none and you have no straight draw either?
Where do you usually play Mr Raab? I might consider moving house

Your face must have been a real picture trying to fathom this one out while banking the money. I know I'd have been frozen to the spot for a while dumbfounded. May be he thought there were another 5 more cards to come.

I still think the guy, think it was someone called river Ron, who called an allin in bet on the river at a televised celeb comp in Brighton when holding just 8 high was much worse. This was at the headsup stage and both players were roughly equal in chips. It's not like they were playing for peanuts, I believe the first prize was £10,000 plus.
I think the only hand he could have betean was either a 7 or 6 high so it's not like he was calling to even beat a bluff as 99.9% of bluffs still beat him.

I remember that, against Viv Williams, still trying to work that one out, can only put it down to either a misread or, for some reason or other, a great desire to see Viv's cards.

Or they had done a deal and he didn't care if he won or lost?

I thought that then, but they must have been great actors as he was battling away after that hand.
