well, it's not going too well. I got through Monday and Tuesday, mainly because I was ill and spent most of those days in bed asleep. Tuesday tea-time was the worst point for me - hubby and I had an argument and it was all blown 10x out of proportion because of my lack of nicotine, and of course made me want a ciggie even more than I already did. Despite leaving the house twice to 'go and buy some cigarettes' I managed to turn around and come back without getting any. Got through Wednesday as well and it had started to get a bit easier. I had a bad day yesterday. As always seems to be the case when I try to stop, it is the mundane of being in the office and the habit I have formed of having cigarette breaks that seems to be my downfall. Despite having no major cravings along the lines of Tuesday evening, I ended up having three cigarettes yesterday. I have also already had one this morning. I do not intend to 'give up giving up' though, and am off to the health food shop at lunchtime to buy a packet of those herbal jobbies. These really helped me the last time I gave up smoking with any level of success, as when the urge just to go and smoke kicked in these seemed to do the trick.
So, not great, but not a total write off yet!

Well proud.
There's something to be said of the willpower involved in setting out for cigarettes, then turning back and coming home empty.
If you can manage that, you're doing something right. There's hope in them there hills.

Try and get something else to do instead of having a ciggy break - have a mint or something. I used to eat a carrot many moons ago when it was time for a ciggy break You'll get there, it's not supposed to be easy

unlucky about yesterday but stick with it, sounds to me like your doing well on the whole.
If i go to the off license for alcohol the only time i come back empty handed is when i stop at the pub first, and its closed by the time i come out!!

You can't use your Clippo to guide your path in the bleakness of midnight anymore, so I guess carrots might be the way to go.

You mentioned stopping yourself from buying ciggies but then you smoke 3. How did you get them, I am guessing that they were from colleagues at work. If that is the case you need to get them to stop giving you even if you end up begging for one. If you don't cut off your supply you are going to struggle.

stopping smoking sucks. I will try again in a few weeks and give the book another whirl next time I think.
