Glasgow festivals

Two festivals coming up in Glasgow, the latter being a ranked event.
Riverboat poker festival 5th-9th Oct (just announced and flyers are in production, so I don't know what they are calling it, just saw the rough hand written draft of the schedule last night). Main event will be a £250 hold-em held over two days, Saturday and Sunday. The usual run of satellites etc.
Winter Festival at Stanley Berkeley. This is the follow up to their summer tournament, and this time it will be ranked. I think Starsky-dog came second in that one?

Full details of the Stanley comp are on my blog (I think they where also on blonde last week sometime)
I'll hopefully get more information from Michelle tonight - but it's bingo night so she may be a bit busy. As far as I know its going in the next Poker Europa issue in the schedule section, but as usual they've left it a little late.

I don't know, I'm just going on what was printed in the Poker Europa mag. Stanleys may have had a festival in previous years...
I know the Riverboat can't host a ranked event because they missed out a festival last year or something like that.
I believe it will be a freezeout, yes. Although I can confirm for you once I have been tonight. I doubt Riverboat would be inventive enough to do anything like double chance freezouts or limited rebuys and or topups with more chips than the original allotment.

last november you mechelle ran a double chance freezeout in the festival, and this is atleast the 2nd year of the festival as i was there last year
stanleys didnt have a festival last year as the event they held last month was the first in about 4-5 years
if the 250 is a freezeout or a double chance or single rebuy tell michelle i'll be down

Michelle wasn't in last night so I couldn't get the proposed structure, but Thomas told me that it wasn't yet set in stone. I had printed a copy of the Stanleys event list, which he took a photocopy of ready for the meeting later in the week. So who knows, they may yet copy...
But the card room isn't big enough for 140 players. He does tell me they will be using the outside area as well but he's not sure if management will let them move the slot machines.

stanleys card room is big enough for 20 tables at a sqeeze i would say 14-16 in comfort (or it was last month) but i wont be playing in stanleys as i now know it's not wheelchair accessable,
the riverboat is a lovely place with free valet parking and working lifts the card room is small and cramped but they also give you a free meal during the first break
think PIE and the euro rankings need to change the ranking event from stanleys to the riverboat IMHO

i'm trying to find out tonite ironside, but the organisation has been woeful. As of last week no flyers had been printed, start times had not been finalised. On the brighter side there is now a festival in the Maybury:
Wed 30 Nov - £50 + £5 NL HE Super Satellite for £1000 event to be held on Saturday 4 Dec. Rebuys for 105 mins.
Thu 1 Dec - £250 + £25 PL HE. Rebuys for 120 mins. Final next day 5pm
Fri 2 Dec - £100 + £10 NL HE. Rebuys for 105 mins.
Sat 3 Dec - £1000 + £50 NL HE Double Chance Freezeout. 1 hour levels. Final next day 5pm
Sun 4 Dec - £100 + £10 PL HE. Rebuys for 105 mins.

Glasgow Riverboat festival next week cancelled - apparently double-booked with a party. Some talk of holding one later in the year.
