Luton Main Event Live Update - At a Glance

Here's your Lite Chip Count hand history etc. update from the £1,500 Main Event of the UK Open!
Thanks for your welcoming words - it's actually some kind of relief to find ourselves once again in the Luton card room, where the 7pm start time has been reached, with one hand turnovers being dealt for the last ditchers amongst us.
If the Rio was the Poker Factory, then Luton is the Poker Newsagent, and I for one am delighted that I'll know a reasonable percentage of the field and can bring more comprehensive updates from this more Local of Main Events.

The players are actually seating at this time - a little huddle of the more myopic amongst them is gathered around the green screens with the seat draw displayed upon them... Tikay's found his table... "I have a corker...Julian Thew, Ali Mallou, Eric Barker, Trevor Reardon." Should be interesting to watch them, especially as Tikay describes Mr. Barker as 'Ali Mallou with turbocharge.'
Let's see them take on the £750 champion, then.

Rob Yong has lost a few chips after having to fold A-K on an A-8-3 flop. Mateyboy showed Pocket Threes.

Jim Reid Quads Shocker -
(got your attention): Up against Bernard Litman's
, Jim Reid holding
must have liked the flop however this particular board came out (just saw them on their backs at the river):
.
A good start for Jim and Bernard is down to just 575. Oh, Kev informs me that Simon Nowab just finished him off. Hard early luck...but at least KFC's still open.

Julain Thew has almost halved his stack after locking horns with Tony Kendall.
Julian raised preflop with 7-2 of diamond and Tony called with T-9 of diamonds.
Of course, the flop brought a flush draw. Julian made a small bet, Tony called.
The diamond hit the Turn and Tony bet, Julian called.
Then the River made Tony a straight flush. Another bet and another call.

Almost a Mateyboy squared moment
Battle of the blinds.
Flop =
Mayeyboy checks, Dale Greenleaf in Seat 5 bets 500, MB calls.
Turn =
MB checks, Greenleaf bets 800, MB calls.
River =
MB checks, Greenleaf bets again, this time 5,800!
And this time MB gives it up.

Quote conversation from Simon Nowab to tablemate Womble:
"How long are the blinds?"
"One hour."
"Then you've got one minute to play a hand at the first level."
"I limped on JP's blind..."
Blinds up to 50/100, then.

Mini Elimination List:
We've lost Ken Pritchard, Brian Welby and Andrew Johnson. Some minor table reshuffling, but we're on for a full count in 45 minutes, at first break.
