I was playing the £10 rebuy in the Glasgow Stanley on Friday having not picked up any hands what so ever until 3 hands before the rebuy period ended I managed to double up and take another nice pot so with my top up I have just under 5k after the break which puts me into prob 3rd place at the table but the way this tourney normally goes this is plenty enough to get to the final table.

Anyway 3 hands after the rebuy period I pick up pocket Jacks in late position, before I act there have 5 limpers.  Blinds are 50/100

I make it a a further  500 to go and it folds round to a young Irish guy, never seen him play in the Stanley before however my observations of him while at the table for around 40 minutes was he liked to be in every pot and overplayed any Ace.  He makes it another 1k to go whats your move here ??  Before raising he must have thought about it for 2/3 minutes.

You've got enough chips to fold this and only invested 600 which doesnt have you totally committed.  You are probably ahead to some sort of ace but, at this stage in the tourney Id say you fold and wait for a better spot.

i might call here and see what the flop brings. you can still fold and have 3.5k ish with 50/100 blinds so you would still have plenty of play left.

if the flop is 10 high you might do all your chips if he has an overpair.

if overcards flop you can get away from it.

if you hit a set you will clear him out if he has an overpair.

I pushed all in hoping he had a weak Ace again.  This time he had AK and he called after thinking about it for 5 minutes.

It was a nice flop for me when it came 9 high, decent turn as no A or K but the inevitable happened and he caught his K on the river.

I think it hindsight the best move would have been to call the bet see the flop and see how he plays it, I reckon if he checks the flop I can bet and he passes, but a dumb ass move from me!!!
