Help someone please.

I shut my laptop down last night with no problems.

As I booted it up this morning I accidentally caught the little tiny button that turns the monitor off when the lid shuts, all I got was a blank screen, the laptop then mumbled a bit and went into some sort of standby mode.

I hit the on button again, it asked for the power up password, up came the Windows Xp screen with scrolling bar at the bottom, then a mega quick flash of a blue screen and then it switched to a screen apologising that it can't boot up and offering me options -  safe mode    last known good configuration   start windows normally.

The first option brought up a list of drivers and then eventually took me back to the power up password, the latter two just made the laptop reboot and take me back to the same options screen again.

Helpppppppppppp pleaseeeeeeeee anyone.

The password it asks for is usually the cmos pass, on some lappies you can remove all batteries and leave it overnight (or longer) to reset the password whilst on others you can manually reset the password via a button or jumper inside.

The password isn't a problem, I know what the password is.

The laptop just won't go beyond this config menu.

Would booting up with the XP disk in work, I did try it, but when it got to the "Recovery Console" nothing happened.

OK I managed to get to the blue screen and it says


UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

Oh i see, you know the password.
Can you enter the cmos at all?
If you can try changing the boot up order putting hard disk first and network card last.
