Scotish law?

i work in a town where i have to pay for parking but i don't wont to do this so i found a few spots that exploit this rule. there is a sign up saying privet parking any car park here will be clamped 40 quid release fee.i heard that its illegal to clamp in Scotland can anyone confirm this as i don,t fancy paying cheers

On my girlfriends estate theres a private firm that clamps anyone parking without a council issued permit.

someones got some tools to take them off though, and after about 50 broken clamps they dont bother anymore.

Good job IMO though, these people are low, especially the way they hold you to ransom with regards to time.

my mates a painter and lost a contract because he's van got clamped and it was about 8pm and they wouldn't come out until the next day, he couldn't do what he had to do that night and missed work the next day.

The best ones are where theres about 50 people waiting when they turn up and they have to take it off for free, Ive seen that a couple of times and loved it.

I'm not advocating intimidation or any other form of threatening behaviour but these people are trained to act in a certain way to, IMO expediently, extract money from individuals in a way that contravenes the ECHR, and i like to see them get a bit back.

But if its private land then you shouldnt be on there in the first place?

If someone parks in our works car park when the pay and display car park next to it is full (despite us having a sign saying "private car park no unauthorized vehicles") then we just lock the gates for the afternoon.

of course i don't won't to be on privet land but when i moved my car to a road with no yellow lines or signs up a note was left on the car saying clamping was starting from tomorrow and this was on the main st

Apparently down a college down south has actually produced an accredited qualification in wheelclamping, summinlike a diploma in the immoblisation of vehicles. You have to ask what about wheelclamping needs more than 5 mins to learn?

If you can park your car on privet land then you are a better driver than I. Do you use a ramp? I wouldn't be happy if you parked on my hedge, I'd clamp you an all!
