Hi folks long time no see.

To celebrate my new found freedom (or maybe i'm going to find myself) i'm shortly hoping to embark on a round the world trip with Smiler. No i'm not going for months and months taking in the weird and wonderful, its just a few days here and there to cheer me up a bit lol.

The places i'm hoping to visit are the east and west coast of the states, fiji (or a similair paradise island for smiler) Oz , somewhere Oriental, South africa Italy and france. I'm hoping Blndes could provide some insights into places to visit things to do etc as well as accomadation suggestions etc

Also i'm shit scared of Flying and was wondering, laptops are allowed on flights yes??(pre-critical status obviously) is it true theres internet access while on board?? (so i can occupy myslef lol) and any suggestions at travel agents to research good deals on tickets etc

I'm sure with all the travelling you guys do i can get some good ideas.

Thanks in advance

OH and I DO NOT WANT TO GOTO VEGAS before anyone suggests it (or milton keynes for that matter)

Wales? you can camp in my garden

or you could just sit under a shower with a sheep for company ... end result is the same.. you get rained on and you sample the only attraction for the welsh Cheesy

PS. Stick a few Tom Jones tracks on your i-pod for that extra touch Wink

Blue,

Italy - Sicily and Florence both beautiful.

Etna and Pompeii if you down that way, are both worth a look.

Other considerations, Amsterdam everyone should see it once, An out of season sunset in Ibiza away from the madness a brilliant and beautiful island, a football match in Barcelona if football is your thing (and its cheap), Sunrise on Glastonbury Tor, and one of the most bizarre places on earth - The Ice hotel (http://www.arctic-experience.co.uk/tour22w/index.htm).

If you gonna spend any time in Europe don't discount the trains, they cheap, reliable, allow you to see so much and allow you to change your plans at a whim.

Enjoy your trip and see all you can.

Iceland is a cracking place to visit, take your big coat though.

Lithuania and Latvia are interesting & cheap.  Too many pretty women there, you'll go blind.

Perhaps not that appealing in the current climate, but, I enjoyed Dubai (not the poker player!) despite the heat, very interesting place.

Australia, Hightlights for me were Sydney, Fraser island and the whitsunday islands

I was there for 6 weeks in total and wasnt even close to long enough in my opinion, I didnt experience western australia or the red centre (ayers rock etc....)

Fiji, Every bit as magnificant as you see on tv, I was there for about 10 days, stayed on 4 differnet islands all with differnt things to offer. The whole culture is so relaxed, suits me down to the ground.

I would reccomend new zealand if you are in the general vicintiy. Some breathtaking scenery coupled with daredevil activities at every stop off (skydiving, bungee jumping, white water rafting, skiing and plenty more)

Once you start travelling you wont want to stop. I think there is a link to my blog on my signature which has pictures of quite a few of the places you intend to visit. Hope you have a blast

Hi,

1) There is a car company in the states where you can get a brand new car in Miami and drive it to LA, and deliver it to a dealership, you just pay for fuel and insurance. I saw this on a holiday show once, but cant remember any more details.

Great way to see the states, and cheaper. P/S. you have a time limit to deliver it, but its a few weeks.

2) When I was working in Detroit, we drove to Niagra Falls, and thought it was amazing. Well worth it, enjoyed it even more as the company paid.

Best Regards
Steve
