In a bizarre way I find it quite exhilarating to watch sporting chaos unfold before my eyes...I'm thinking the Indy Formula 1 Gp for example

today was another...an over officious umpire spots ball tampering and give England 5 runs and orders a ball change. No warning to the offenders

The Pakistanis are offended, protest innocence and then it all kicks off with boycotts, the umpires awarding the match to England from a losing position and now recriminations all round

Corking stuff! Nothing like a good sporting drama

I really hope for the Umpires sake they saw someone do it on purpose and not just looked at the ball and made 2+2=5!

It's still not sure if the match has been awarded yet, what a PR disaster. That umpire is know for previous friction with the Pakistani team.

What an odd statement:

Quote
"After lengthy negotiations which resulted in agreement between the teams, the match referee and both the ECB and PCB to resume the fourth Test tomorrow, it was concluded that with regret there will be no play on the fifth day."

Ahem, that is what I said  Wink

When Pakistan refused to take the field after tea, the umpires must have awarded the match to England.

No way Darryl Hair is going back on that imo.

True, the Umpires told Pakistan that if they didn't come out they'd forfiet the game - they told the Umpires that they would play but would come out in their own time. You can't have players dictating to referees or umpires what the rules should be.
