A Venus Flytrap . I have been reading about him on Wikipedia for the last 20 mins after bringing him home. To be honest, I was slightly worried about having to feed him insects, but fortunately it says on wikipedia he doesn't actually need them to survive. I hate killing things, even insects. My dog looked worried incase the plant was going to nick his dog food Here he is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus_flytrap I need a name. Any suggestions? I already have a massive 13 year old Spider Plant called Gerald. ( Why has my text suddenly gone large? )

seems a strange choice of plant for a vegetarian Sark. Knowing your love of all living creatures, will you not feel upset when it catches the odd fly?

Thanks mate, I must have hit that by accident when typing a + in a PM I just sent.
George holds painfull memories for Gerald, he had two Brothers. One is called Locutus who lives in Glasgow, the other was called George, sadly he was killed after being knocked out of a tenth storey flat window by a cat.

I was in B&Q buying some compost and I saw him sitting on a shelf by himself. I felt bad for him and he was only 39p. The North Carolinian accent is starting to annoy me already though. He keeps saying " USA, USA, USA ".

the flies dont actually have to be alive when they are fed to the fly trap - dead ones will do just as well. This way if you see any dead flies lying around just pick them up with a pair of tweezers and feed them to your new family member and you wont feel as guilty. Not sure whether you get many dead flies just lying around in Kilmarnock - here in the jungle they are 10 to the penny!!

It says on wikipedia people have fed them hamburgers, but the fat content is too high and they can't digest them. I was slightly worried earlier because I noticed he had actually closed his teeth on his own leg/arm whatever you want to call it. I hope he is ok. Bush

ctrl and the scroll wheel on a mouse has the same effect.
Ctrl 0 (zero) should set it all back to normal.
