Something on my computer is redirecting me when I click on a link on google or yahoo. Not to the same page everytime, but to a page somewhat similar to what I'm searching for.

I have scanned with Norton, Spy Sweeper and Aware SE and I have the free Zone Alarm firewall. It's still doing it. I have scanned with other software but have to pay to remove whatever they find so haven't done so. Every morning I run one of the above scans and it always finds something.

My new computer is scheduled to be delivered on friday.

Do you think I'll be OK until then playing poker and a bit of surfing the net or should I be more concerned about it?

My computer was infected with what seemed like a million viruses last week. It took me almost 2 days to clear everthing off apart from this google bug or whatever it is.

Just download Firefox and use that instead of IE

See if that helps?

It was quite amazing to watch, the virus' just seemed to kick the **** out of Norton. It came up with "internal error please uninstall and reinstall software" or something.

Just what you want your anti virus to do in an emergency.

I had a spyware problem as well today, completely frustrating!

Norton got most of it fixed, it seems, except for one piece of Trojan in the registry that neither Norton, Spybot OR Adaware picked up.

Spyware Doctor found it though.

I thought if I did a System Restore to before I got myself into this mess it would fix the problem, but no - I tried to do SR with two different restore points and both times the Computer came back with an error, 'unable to restore, changes have not been made.'

So in desperation I had to fork out the £23 to get my Spyware Doctor registered - and that seems to have done the trick.

(Honestly though - what's the point of having a System Restore facility, that the first time you actually need to use it, won't restore your system?!) Angry

I recommend NOD32 for AV. It's worth £20 a year for something works so well. I've heard that they're bringing a new version out soon with added antispam and antispyware features too (maybe a firewall aswell, i forget!)
