Im up in the north west this weekend to visit some friends i was at uni with. Anyway we are planning to visit the Grosvenor in Blackpool on Sunday for the fiver chip throwing contest and possibly the 30 pounder afterwards. My mates are live casino newbies hence the opportunity of a low buy in is appreciated. Any info on the venue and rules of the cardroom from Blackpool regulars. For example is it self deal, how many can people can we expect for this event, so on and so forth.

heya longy. The sunday fun/aggro fest which is our £5 PL SELF DEAL shanigans regularry gets over 70 players and has hit the 100 mark altho its not for the purist. Sundays current comp is a £30+3 NL game which is only in its 4th week and is attracting around 80+ runners.

afternoon comp starts at 245pm and last entry is at 230pm sharp (we open at 2pm) and parking can be an issue
Evening starts at 845pm and last entry is at 830pm sharp.

Hope you enjoy the "experience"

We decided on the train option to Blackpool hence no need for parking just a massive walk and therefore we could only play the fiver effort (bit different to the comp going on at home). I will get my only gripe out of the way first which is the blind structure leaves little play even in the rebuy period, but hey what do i expect for a fiver, is it the same structure for the bigger rebuy tourneys?
I must say i really enjoyed the experience nice card room and got a really friendly(as in non aggro there to enjoy the game) table, which im sad to say isn't always the case in Nottingham. There was also the non smoking thing with an open plan card room really does make you think that we would better going non smoking in Notts. Hopefully i will get the opportunity to play again sometime in one of the bigger comps.
Oh and no joy in making the money
