Newsflash and this is a belter.....

Apparantly we've just sold Pascal Cygan for £2M (yes that is £2 Million) to some Spanish mugs.

That can only mean that Gallas is a done deal.

LOL, this is the best bit of business all summer

What about Traore!?

Good business on both fronts IMO. I think without a more eperienced centre-half to help the talented younger lads along, Arsenal would have struggled this season.

Baptista will be excellent in our league IMO. You will finally have the replacement Wenger wanted for Vieira.

Could not agree more (never thought I would be saying that Baron Wink) about Baptista

We have lacked  a physical presence in midfield since disposing of Vieira, Edu and Parlour all at once.

And Gallas, well he's top class.

I'm suddenly feeling a lot better about this season....

Yup! And my £40 is suddenly in jeopardy!

Cole for Gallas and £5m is cheap and a great coup for chelsea IMO but it is still great for both clubs in terms of this season.

I think Chelsea definitely got the better end of the deal here.

Cole was unhappy but willing to play and give 100%. Gallass had basically refused to turn up for training and was leaving next year for nothing.

Arsene rated Cole at 30 million which means he rates Gallas at 25 million. I would possibly partially see that if he was on a long contract and Chelsea wanted to keep him, but with the fact he was going to be leaving at the end of the year for nothing, i think arsene got a little bit done here.

Think overall though, its a good situation for both teams. Chelsea get the 'world-class' left back they were looking for and arsenal get a centre half partner for traore.

Cole only had a couple of years left on his contract and then he could go for free and no one would give 100% if they didn't want to be there.  It could have cost us millions more had he not gone and didn't play well for us.   Also, we need a decent centre back again.

A good deal in my opinion, for both sides.

i think we have let him go too cheaply. £10m and gallas was the right deal imo.

its not as though chelsea arent going to pay, transfer fees dont matter to them. they spent £21m on SWP £24m on drogba to name a few and have got cole in a deal for about £13m.

we do need a centre half though and gallas is as good as anybody i just feel that we couldve held out for more

The trouble is Dan, that if we hang on any longer the transfer doesn't go through AND we don't get Gallas.

We could end up with cashley playing in the reserves and when the window opens again he is into his last year with his value halved..

Added to that, we might consequently end up missing out on Gallas or signing him on a free and paying double in wages.

Personally I think Arsene will have woken up today far happier than whoreino.
