He got lucky every time did he? Maybe it was something to do with the fact he new what he was doing!!

LoL, you think this is "knowing what he's doing"?

Freshwater croc - not dangerous - it's grabbed the noose & he's hung on. Again - he knows what he's doing - he'd never have taken that risk with a saltwater croc.

The irony is, Steve Irwin probably woulda got on with you John, as like the croc, cold blood flows through your veins. Wink

poor john has not got much going for him, cold blood, tella belly, and ugly as sin too boot!!

John my heart goes out to ya mate.

u know somthing billy, r u a nice enough guy but one day your mouth will get you into bother, if it hasnt already

Ohh jeeze John have you taken the HUFF again?

Just seen what Rod has wrote and agree... Also, did you see him panic when he got dragged in?? Nope, it was as if nothing had happened and he also knows he has backup which arrives.

I feel the tone of this thread has gone down hill rapidly.

Weather you agree/disagree with what he did with his life is not the issue. THE MAN IS DEAD for f*** sake! - His wife, children and close friends must be devastated at such a loss.

RIP Steve Irwin

In fairness it just sidetracked a little as things tend to on here.

There was an episode of his show i saw recently where his staff at The Australia Zoo brought in a fake Arab prince.
The ruse was that he would donate a chunky amount to the zoo and Steve had to keep him happy, the "prince" during a tour of the zoo said he wanted the camels in the zoo and Steve was devastated at the thought of giving his "friends" away.
Sums him up i think, he loved all of the animals.

He was a top man, had such zeal for nature and his job. People like him are an inspiration.

The thing with his kid may have been a bit of a misjudgement but the truth is they were probably a lot safer than when most parents push a pram across the road.

He devoted himself to nature, protecting it through the various programmes he instigated and illuminating it for the world to see up close.

RIP. The world will miss him.

RIP Steve.

Slightly OT, can't doing things like that give people phobias.

I have a phobia of deeeeep water cos my dad took into the sea (waaaay out of my depth and i couldn't swim) when i really young and i cr@pped myself.

I don't think people should speak ill of the dead.

His shows were the highlight of the week, what a terrible tragedy.

Animals don't go to heaven, they move to a farm.

Terrible news.  He died doing what he loved, though.

The Australian Government have offered his Family a state funeral.  His Father said that he felt Steve wouldn't want this and preferred it to remain low key

The video footage shows Steve pulling the barb from his own chest before dying moments later. His Manager is calling for the tape to be destroyed after the police finish with it.

I expect it will be on youtube within the month.
