Although he has his head slightly below water with 8,000 in chips, JP is clearly delighted to be playing his first EPT under the guidance of Blue Square...

Squeezing through to the sort of feature table - I see Roland getting involved in a bit of preflop re-raising action with one of the blinds - before you know it 8,000 is in front of Roland (looks like less than half his stack, however) and Matey-in-the-blinds is all in.
Roland shows:
His opponent:

This looks very familiar - I seem to remember almost exactly the same situation taking Roland out of the EPT Baden... This time he has his opponent well covered, and it looks like he may have an escape route via a three-club board on the turn - but no cigar.

These photos are 1) A slightly disappointed Roland, with a truly amazing hat on
2) Roland's hand, which was meant to be artistic but is actually disappointingly blurry
3) His opponent, and doubler-upper.

And between those two sit Ben 'Milkybar Kid' Grundy, and Rob Hollink - here's Ben and Rob looking happy:

Not sure Tony Chessa has mastered that sort of poker face, however...*

Enough messing around!  More chip counts:

Jeff Buffenbarger      5,200
Tony Chessa           20,200
Johnny Lodden       24,000
Torstein Iversen      10,000

Two tables are currently hosting cash games, which I never seem to learn not to hover round and count people's chips, which they quite rightly find irritating.

More importantly, look at that barnet - must have lost control of the garden shears...

And just as the rather reserved Stephen Pearce was on the verge of, dare I say it, quiet, he goes off on one of his oral rambles, trying to work out if Scandieboy has just gone all-in on overcards.

Pearce had limped for 300 with the Ducks, and it was a chunky 3,850 to call, but he did indeed shove the chip in, saying "I'm going to call and hope I'm racing" - which indeed he was, but only just as Scandieboy held A-3 off.

Board = 6-T-5-5-2 giving Pearce the boat.

************************************BREAK*****************************************

Caught up with Ben Grundy, who's a fairly short stack now and lamenting his seating on the right of Rob Hollink.  Roland shares this position, which is making it awkward for the two of them to attack the four tighter players whom Ben says are to the left of Rob - now with too few chips to really raise and pass to a re-raise, he looks a little frustrated.  Still in, though, unlike many.  I'd estimate a quarter of players are now playing cash or in the bar.

Which leads me on to a little Interactivity Quiz - of the following players, not to be found at the poker tables, who are Lurkers (yet to play), who are shirkers (didn't get in the tournament) and who are simply OUT?

Marc Goodwin
Bad Girl
Steve Vladar
Ross Boatman
Willie Tann
Henning Granstad
Sverre Sundbo

Chip Leader - Les Kerrigan - 40,000
Following closely (and maintaining that if he hadn't just lost a pot before the break, he'd be in front) - Thomas Wahlroos - 36,500
