i think its 160 thats why a sell out means no added value

i like the idea of smaller buy in freezeouts over 2 days for hobby players this gives a bit of extra value for money even if it does mean that it attracts better players witch makes less value in the game itself

it seats 144 officially but as tikay will attest they have shoe horned (and i mean FORCED in) a few more.
it was in a flyer to members and yes, it is probably already full.

How do you pre-register for this?
Do you have to go down there or can it be phone?

Thanks

You cannot do it by 'phone Jason. You need to visit the Casino in person, though for the bigger Grosvenor events, you can usually register at any Grosvenor Casino in advance.

Look in our Cardroom Directory for the location & telephone numbers of your nearest Grosvenor.

They should have made it a re-buy!! - it will only make 16000.  In addition for non-locals it means a one hour plus drive to bust out early with no re-buy option is no-one's idea of fun!

with re-buys, it would make 35,000!! - now that sounds better doesn't it!

Fair comment Greg, but many players cannot afford to play in a 100 rebuy, whereas they CAN manage a 100 Freezeout.

I think Walsall are trying to get the balance right here, & I applaud them for it.

I am still curious, though, as to how Dani Verace, who began this thread, seems to knows so much about what's happening at Walsall. Cough cough.

PS - Keep them coming Danny, that's what the Forum is for!

Well I for one would jump at a freezout like this but definatly would not play in it if it was a rebuy...
I think the average player would jump at the chance to play in this..

Well that's exactly my point Jason. Some guys need to know their maximum liability, & if they know it's 100, they can manage it, but the possibility of 2 or 3 rebuys prices them out. I am all for a mixtue of rebuys & freezeouts. I don't like 100 rebuys personally, but that don't make them a bad idea.

We must always remember that we all have different financial situations, & everbody needs to be catered for.

there is plenty of options for rebuy event all accross the country from 5 to 500

there is very few freezeouts

alot of us newbies have been introduced to poker thru freezeouts and dont get a chance to play
them unless we have a huge bankroll

more smaller buy in freezeouts in local areas means people will have a choice
