Is it good for headaches?
I have a mega sore head, the kind you get after a heavy night drinking. I don't drink, but the pain is similar. Every few months I get a three day headache and I just know this is going to be a three day job
I don't like eating too many paracetamol's or co-dydramols as they are bad for your kidneys. The last couple of times my three day headache has arrived, I have swallowed about a full packet.
My Dad has told me about Tiger Balm and the type he used in the Far East during his time in the Navy. He said it was great for headaches when applied using a warm wet towel .
Does anyone know if the UK equivalent is any good or is it weak and ineffective?
thanks

Smack your thumb really hard with a hammer, I guarantee you will forget all about your headache !
Seriously, sounds like a migraine, a dark room and wait it out is the only solution to that !!

Theres a product called "4Head" that you can get from the chemist / boots etc......
Its like a roll on deodorant that you roll onto you forehead. It acts like a local anesthetic.
Works too.

Hi Sark,
you can buy something similar to tiger balm at the Body Shop (or at least you used to be able to) - it's called essential balm, and works a treat for headaches.
Is it just a headache you're getting or could it be migranes? If so, the only real way to get those eased is to lie in a quiet dark room and sleep them off.
hope you're feeling better soon.

these topical balms have good effects from what i hear but are you sure you want to be buying 'tiger' balm? you know that in the far east they use a lot of animal parts to cure and promote health. check out the ingrediants before you use it just incase. red imps idea sounds good and im going to try it the next time i have a headache. i also hate taking pills like paracetamol because of the liver damange they can do and try to drink lots of water when ive a headache. ive red a story about a man who cured all sorts of illnesses in a prison (he was also a prisoner) with water alone. cant vouch for the guy though. hope your headache eases off

I use Tiger Balm on my boys fore arms and shoulders when they start aching before and after racing, it's great for relaxing their muscles. I wouldn't advise putting it on your forehead though.
4head is fantastic, I keep one in my handbag at all times.
