Anyone got one? The missus borrowed one and absolutly loves it. Bottom line is that she's got to have one! It was only the basic version, One and it's around £200.
Is the next one up (510) worth the extra? Also, do you have to subscribe to a service with these to get updates or anything like that?

Get the 510!!!
I am looking into it as well, I borrowed one and MUST HAVE ONE!!
The 510 is the next one up, with bluetooth for handsfree and you can attach your mp3 player to it (apparently)

I had the TomTom 300 until about a month ago when some toe rag nicked it. I too absolutely loved the thing and they are worth their weight in gold IMO. I'll be replacing it with the new TomTom One as I don't really need European maps (which is the only real difference between the One and the higher models) The only thing you have to pay for is traffic announcements (which are free on most car stereos lol) and the speed camera locations, all updates are free.
Word of warning though, when you leave your car (and obviously hide/remove the satnav AND cradle) ensure that you CLEAN the suction cup mark from the window. This is apparently what the thieves look for now, and it's worth them breaking your window to see if you left it in the car.

I have the basic one. It's a much more convenient size and shape, I love it to bits.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Please all also be aware that a friend of mine was followed from a petrol station a distance of 5 miles. Parked up. Carefully stowed away his Tom tom but they knew it was there because they clocked it at the petrol station.
A serious post.........whats happening to me.............where is my lemon tea

Love my Tom Tom!!!
I have TT5 on a stand alone PDA with GPS capability and it knocks the earlier competition (Destinator) into the proverbial.
I also subscribe to a site which allows you to add all the speed cameras etc so you can get warning when you approach them.
Re theft NEVER NEVER leave in the car! Not only will they target cars with the little cradle on the windscreen but apparently they look for cars with the sucker marks on the window!!!!!
If you have a PDA/GPS and want TT5....pm me!

I have Tom Tom 300. Easy to use. Alternative route is great when in jams.

Cheers for the feedback, the security tips in particular - I'll make sure that she does wipe the suction marks off too - would never have thought of that.
I like the idea of linking my iPod to the next model up, also the phone link seems a good idea too.

That link to your stereo. They also sell Tom Tom's so you may be able to get a good deal there. Alternatively, your local ICE shop should be able to install one.

Bobby George (the darts player) was at my local the other week when some git smashed his window and nicked his, he'd left it on the seat doh. Also when Phil Taylor (another darts player) came a couple of months ago he said when he put the pubs postcode in it came back "WTF do you wanna go there for??"
