just in response to Graham's post about the start times, a few of us did feedback before the last league started that some 9pm games would be good for those of us who need to get small children settled into bed.  As I recall, Aaron said that it had been noted for the next league and there would be some 9pm games......I'll try to find the thread and link to it later.

Fair do's I didn't see that, cheers for posting it Smiley

Unfortunately we have to try and please everyone with regard to comps, times, days etc..  This is impossible however. whatever we go with, someone will be unable to play some events.

Thats why we have the "5 results count" rule in place.

I appreciate that the times and days dont suit some members and for that I can only apologise.

The decision was taken to run every comp at 8.30pm to save any confusion that mixed start times would bring.

I hope everyone will try and support the league by playing in whatever events they can.

Thanks.

Completely understand Kev, but isn't this a little contradictory?
Surely a mixture of weekday/weekend games, and various starting times would be the best way to make sure everyone can play 5ish events.  As long as the starting times were published in advance I can't imagine anyone on here not being able to keep track Huh?

Anyway, hopefully some of the feedback on this thread can be taken on board for the next league.

I'm happy Smiley  And I'll support Blonde Poker and play as many as I can Smiley

Sorry to sound like I was being awkward about the 9pm time thing,  I was only wondering - if you don't mention it, you certainly don't get Smiley

I'll be able to make at least 6 I expect Smiley

Great work in getting it organised Kev, I've been looking forward to the new league.

What research? when? who did it?
If you mean the thread Aaron started asking for feedback and then completely ignoring it then it doesn't count anymore now than it did then!

OK, let's clear this up.

The ONLY vote I held where the winners didn't prevail was the rebuy vs freezeout dispute for the Omaha comps. As there was a lot of voters for each we hd BOTH rebuys and freezeouts in the interest of fairness and people could choose what they wanted to play.

However the research Kev is referring to is the 'days of the week' vote we held before the last league where Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays were clearly voted for by the majority of people. The masses spoke and we provided.

The weekend just wasn't popular enough.

Claw,

I do feel as though I owe you an explanation...

The start times were always going to be an issue. The bottom line was 9PM was too late to start the rebuys (as after Flushy had rebought 41 times the chips in play were huge and there was loads of play), some others didn't want earlier start times for these events as they weren't long home from work.

In short, we can't please everyone.

Another large piece of feedback (mainly by PM but also mentioned a good few times on the forum) is that people STILL don't know when our comps are happening. Now we don't want to overspam everything otherwise we get complaints, so the best way to get people aware of what's going on is to regularise (is that a word?) everything.

Within a few months we hope that even the non-regular players will know that every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8:30pm there is a blonde comp. By and large we think it will work a lot better than having 3 different start times each week.

I take full responsibilty for not having a 9pm start for you after I said I would last time, but at the same time we have to think about the site and it's progress. The site is a large portion of blonde's income and we have to look after it with what decisions we think will help it.

By and large I think the news of 8:30pm start times has been well received as there haven't been many discussions about it.

So we'll stick with 8:30 for now and see how we fare.

Sorry for not coming through on the start time but I hope you understand. Smiley

thanks for the explanation Aaron.  As I happens, 8.30 should jsut about be ok for me, , just worried it might prevent others from playing.  It's my years as a union rep coming through I'm afraid!

Suggestion alert:

Does anyone here feel it would be worth stickying this, so that people who want the complete schedule in advance don't have to search for it?

Just a thought....

(to be taken under advisement, natch)
