A while back we had a post inviting all blondes to a golf and poker day in surrey.  I duly signed and up was suprised to be the only blonde there when i arrived for the day.  It was held in camberley and had an excellent format whereby you earn you tourney chips for the evening by scoring points in a stableford golf competition.  Every missed putt, every sliced drive, every topped approach costs you 100 chips - great stuff if you love both games.

The golf day was fantastic, camberley heath gc was a pleasure to play on, and everything went very smoothly.  I did OK and came in to the with a slightly above average starting position.  I had the good fortune to play with spineynorm (norman pace) who some of you may know.  The tourney was held in the golf club and we all settled down to the poker after a great meal.  By complete coincidence i was sat next to a chap who plays at my own club on the other side of london.  With 58 runners and a bigger buy in that I'm used to I knew my work was cut out, and after a real rollercoaster ride and managed to do OK and take a bit of cash home.

Anyway I wanted to let you chaps know how well run and enjoyable everything was.  Rugrat (Tony Cooper) organised the whole thing and did an excellent job, so big thanks to the man, a true gent.  I do hope that we'll see some more events coming our way, so if they do make sure you sign up next time!!!  It was tough work holding my own against a field of bad beat forum players!

Cheers,

Joe

I think if you get a Mod or Blonde "hero" to play golf you may get a
better response to your quality thread regarding your Blonde golf day.

I know tikay can hit a ball and Junior plays off +2

Nice report

PM me I'll send you a little BMW golf goodie

regards

Joe ... you are most welcome ... it was a great day .. and by the way you do yourself an injustice ... maybe only one blonde there but he managed to carry off first prize and put nearly £2000 in his bin ... very well done mate.

Yes, I was surprised that we didn't see more blondes but take the point re getting some bigger names involved. I said at the time i didn't think you need to be a great golfer and when you look at some of the scores you'd appreciate why. We had an 8, couple of 10's and 11's and a few of those went deep into the tourney ... indeed one made the final table. So we will be running again next year when I'm hoping to move it from 60 to nearer 100 runners.

Again thanks to Joe for his post and hope to see a few new faces to me, but familiar ones to you next year

Just to endorse what Rivered has said about the golf/poker day, Tony was a great host and must have put a lot of effort in making the day a great success.

I will email you later tony, once again thanks for a great days fun.
