While out a run earlier, my mate told me about a girl who had had an eye transplant.  I thought he was talking crap and I made a bet with him ( £25 ) .  I lost  Cheesy,  but I am glad I did as I think it is amazing they are able to do things like this.   I looked on the Internet just now to see if he was telling the truth and I managed to find this news article about it .  It is not a real news site, but there is nothing about it on BBC news or SKY that I can find.

Modern science is amazing.  If we fast forward 30 years, I wonder what medical breakthroughs will have been made

I'm not 100% on this but I don't think an eye "transplant" actually involves the transplant of the whole eye as such, just the cornea part.

So Sark maybe you could get the bet voided on a technicality?  lol

Either way it's still an absolutely amazing thing to be able to do!!

lol,  the money has already left my wallet and has probably been used down the local pub by now  Cheesy .  Not to worry, I will get that back and probably more after next weeks RISK tournament we have organised.  £5 to enter and there are 6 of us, so that should give me a nice £30  Cheesy

I've not played risk for years, but seem to remember from when I did play as a teenager that it was actually a very quick game to grasp - not half as complicated as it looks.

lol,  it may not look complicated,  but there are so many strategic levels involved that it takes abit longer to master.  One minute you are buddies with someone, then you are backstabbing them and trying to take them out.  10 minutes later you are buddies with that same person and are both trying to kill another opponent. This is all done non verbally.  In our games we are not allowed to form alliances, but when you play after a while no words need to be spoken, it just happens naturally.  My strategy always used to be to attack my greatest rival first and continually take swipes at him the whole game, then I would defend him against a  stronger opponent when he was on the verge of death.  This made him gratefull and he returned the favour later in the game.  Then it is time to take him down and out of the game when he thinks you have formed an alliance Cheesy

We used to have a league of 20 games over a few months.  I had 8 wins and my greatest rival, one of my best mates had 8 wins. The other four were lost by each of us trying to out perform the other and as a result eliminating ourselves   Cheesy.

It is a great game.  The traditional game is the best,  the game I am playing next week has aliens and things in it. I think it sounds crap compared to the original, but the majority has voted for it unfortunately.
