just wanted some views on all the blondes,
the game is changing so quick we are getting more and more like the states,i do it myself and a lot of my mates do it to.i know there is a fine line as to what you can say but personally i think its great for the game,so long as your NOT rude to anyone ie rubbing down or bad language,i think it breaks the atmosphere as a lot of new people are coming into the game and when you say you play poker i think that people think ooooooooh ahhhhhh seedy dark rooms with no talking,it really do break it up a bit and you have a good laugh.on thursday i hit a dream final table and there was more chat there than all the indian restaurants in india,we all had a great great time and loads of fun ,i wont tell you who won ,but it was me lol, even the dealers said afterwards that they would have dealt it for free ,they have never seen anything like it,we even had spectators hystericaly laughing.in my honest own opinion this was the best final table ive been on (not just coz i got the result)but everyone said after how much fun they had and can you now extend the clock ,so that the clock dont get called on us for talking lol, just wanted a few peoples views thnx in advance JAMES

TBH i dont mind either way, i can sit there in silence just as easily as i could sit there chatting away.

I'd be interested to find out how many people would prefer to just sit in silence and how many people that engage in table talk do so reluctantly.

Depends on what frame of mind I am in..Occasionally I will talk but I mostly prefer to sit quite. As long as the conversation does not require input from me ..others are quite welcome to chat away.

I like plenty of table chat, & I have no problem wirh speech play, as long as it's not rude or personal.

Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't.  Depends on the atmosphere.

I loosen up when I've had a drink, especially free drinks, especially in Vegas.  Quiet as a mouse in Europe, honest Smiley

games meant to be about concentration and people chatting can put me off so I would rather everyone sit in total silence Wink
As for speach play, does it work? I can't imagine ever being able to get more information by asking a few questions or chatting to someone.

I like chat at the table, but I don't consider that to be 'table talk'

Having said that, I have no problem with table talk, i.e. trying to get information, or influence a decision, as long an it doesn't go to far.

For instance, I don't like it when I have a tough decision to make, and my opponent is right in my face and refuses to shut up for a moment to allow me to think
