At the end of the day this is about 1 thing and 1 thing only $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ the big casinos in the States are worried so they sponsor a law to outlaw internet gaming the US Gov was worried due to the fact that internet gaming is hard or near impossible to tax with their system ( which is totally irrational by the way ) a few weeks after he won the WSOP I was playing in a cash game with Greg raymer in Dublin and we got talking about US Tax laws and poker amazingly they not only get taxed on winnings but also losses can be offset against tax like any other business I suggested he and I play a game and he loses a couple of mil to me and i drop him 500k back in a suitcase lol.. Im afraid he wasnt interested lol. Anyway to get back to the matter at hand life experience has always shown me that where there is enough $ about then someone will find a way around the system and do very well out of it, If it doesnt turn out like that then TK is totally right what looks like bad news today is tommorrows oppotunity

As I understand it, this bill does not actually become law until Bush signs it in around ten day's time.

We will then see exactly how they intend to enforce it.

A family member made an absolute fortune from stocks and shares a good few years back when the internet was all the rage but he hasn't bothered for years and has retired with his profits but he has gotten involved with this and seen this as a huge opportuinity. I wont say which shares are a definate buy in his oppinion but lets just say some of them have been listed in this thread and the market has hugely over reacted to the new legislation (as they always do). Just because its more difficult for people to fund their accounts (where theres a will theres a way) does anyone on here really believe that internet poker will cease to exist? Think outside the box as to which businesses are going to benefit from the new legislation and that could also steer you in the right direction for a few good investments as well.
